  • Patent number: 4850689
Abstract: A near vision contact lens has a generally elliptical body of concavo-convex cross-sectional configuration with interior and exterior curvatures providing the desired power from the bottom to the extreme upper edge. The rounded ends of the body are so positioned that the major axis of the lens body is spaced substantionally above the lower edge of the lens body, and the rounded ends of the lens body provide a lateral positional stability as the eyes roll downwardly and converge, and each lens rides from the outer flatter lower periphery of the cornea up onto the more highly curved corneal cap with composite downward and inward rotation of the eyeball.
