  • Patent number: 6361082
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pipe coupling for connection to a pipe end of a pipe made of polymer material and intended preferably for tap water or heating installations. The pipe coupling includes an inner sleeve intended for insertion into the pipe end and for abutment with the inner surface of said pipe end. The coupling further includes an outer sleeve intended for abutment with the outer surface of said pipe end. The outer sleeve is provided with a slot-like opening and means for adjusting the width of said opening. When the outer sleeve is in a tightened, adjusted state, the sleeve will be internally and externally cylindrical. A center axis through the outer cylindrical surface of the outer sleeve is spaced at a distance from a center axis through the inner cylindrical surface of the outer sleeve. In the tightened, adjusted state of the outer sleeve, the internal radius of said sleeve is smaller than the external radius of said pipe end.

  • Patent number: 5744085
Abstract: A tool is used for expanding a pipe-end which includes a plurality of jaws that can be moved radially in relation to a centre axis, between a retracted position and an outer expanding position. The jaws are inserted to a given distance in the pipe-end with the jaws in their retracted position. The jaws have outer surfaces which lie adjacent one another in the retracted positions of the jaws and have a circular-arcuate shape in cross section for engagement with the inner surface of the pipe-end. The radial distance of the outer jaw surfaces from the centre axis increases from the insertion end of the jaws to their opposite end. The pipe-end is expanded successively in several stages with relative small jaw movements, wherein the jaws are retracted and inserted further into the pipe-end between each expansion stage. The jaws of the tool can be moved radially through a distance which is smaller than the ultimate radial expansion of the pipe-end.

  • Patent number: 4993458
Abstract: A weaving machine operates with warp thread tracks which lead from warp beams towards a shuttle race at which a fell of the cloth can be established and the weft thread or weft threads can be drawn in with a reed during ongoing weaving. Immediately before the interaction of the reed with the weft thread or weft threads, a momentary friction or increase in friction is produced between the warp threads and a member arranged in the warp thread track between the magazine and the fell of the cloth. The friction or increase in friction is produced by brake members which are activated such that a reduction is achieved in the flexibility of the warp threads at the fell of the cloth during the interaction between the reed and the weft thread or weft threads.

  • Patent number: 4613376
Abstract: A surfacing mass especially for outdoor use and mainly comprising a mixture of asphalt and a stone material having a low content of fine material. The mixture comprises a little amount of fibres of a type which is not solved or softens in the asphalt, preferably mineral fibres. The fibre material has an average diameter of between 1 and 5 .mu.m and is added in an amount of between 0.5 and 20% by weight calculated on the amount of asphalt. The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing such surfacing mass at a mixing temperature of 140.degree.-170.degree. C. or preferably 150.degree.-160.degree. C. both for the asphalt and the stone mass. Preferably the fibre material is admixed in the asphalt before the mixing thereof with the stone material. The fibre material may be admixed in the asphalt at an asphalt temperature which is higher than the mixing temperature for asphalt and stone material.

  • Patent number: 4603839
Abstract: An apparatus for transporting or displacing elongated objects in a direction longitudinal to the object comprises a rotatable traction wheel including a first and a second disc. A plurality of arcuately shaped ridges are defined on opposing surfaces of the discs. The ridges extend substantially axially from the center of the discs to the circumferences of the discs. The first and second discs are journalled to a rotatable shaft. The axial and angular positions of one or both of the discs with respect to the shaft may be adjustable. The shaft may include an articulated joint to permit the angle of rotation of the first disc to be displaced from the angle of rotation of the second disc.

  • Patent number: 4408638
Abstract: The invention relates to a screen, which consists of one layer of longitudinal threads and one layer of transversal threads and which has a theoretical free area larger than 0%. The longitudinal threads (1) are drawn down in the fabric so that, in the drawn-down points, pockets, or cavities, (3) are formed between the bent-down points. Hereby the fabric or screen has a high draining capacity in combination with good retention properties.
