Patent number: 6913799Abstract: Golf turf is disclosed and claimed herein which simulates fairway, rough or putting green surfaces. Golf clubs which strike the golf turf disclosed herein do not experience the shock of typical golf mats made from Astroturf® and the like, lessening fatigue and preventing injury to the elbow and wrist. Crimped filaments made of synthetic resinous fibers are used to make strip brushes having flared end portions which form a homogeneous surface. Receiving slots in a substrate retain a plurality of strip brushes spaced apart and parallel to each other. The strip brushes are configured to simulate homogeneous surfaces which approximate actual golf surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2002Date of Patent: July 5, 2005Assignee: Bruns Brush Inc.Inventors: William Brundula, James R. Patent number: 6530106Abstract: A vacuum sweeper roller brush having tuft segments arranged in straight lines is employed to slap the carpet and dislodge particulate dirt and dust lodged therein. The tuft segments are made up of groups of tufts and each tuft segment has a corresponding tuft segment spaced apart from the first tuft segment. The tuft segments are arranged in a double helix or partially in a first double helix and partially in a second double helix. Alternatively, a single helix may be used. Other embodiments employ tufts which link one tuft segment to another in a stepped pattern or employ tuft segments which link tuft segments together in a helical pattern.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2000Date of Patent: March 11, 2003Assignee: Bruns Brush, Inc. Patent number: 5727276Abstract: A concentric roller pin for use in combination with a roller member of a vacuum cleaner wherein the concentric roller pin includes an inner end, an outer end and an intermediate portion. The inner end of the concentric roller pin is tapered and terminates in a transverse face. The transverse face of the concentric roller pin abuts a corresponding face in a tapered bore of the roller member. The intermediate portion of the concentric roller pin includes an outer knurled surface for securing the concentric roller pin to the roller member. The outer end of the concentric roller pin includes a bearing surface, a bearing lip, and an axial bore. The axial bore of the outer end of the concentric roller pin facilitates deformation thereof for securing a bearing against the bearing lip and the bearing surface.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 1997Date of Patent: March 17, 1998Assignee: Bruns Brush, Inc.Inventors: Rudolph F. Brundula, William P. Brundula

Patent number: 5495634Abstract: The invention is directed toward a vacuum sweeper roller brush having an integrally formed stiffener bar. The roller brush includes a plurality of brush tufts which fixedly reside in recesses. The brush tufts and stiffener bars are arranged helically on the exterior of a generally cylindrical roller member. The stiffener bars support the brush tufts to provide improved sweeping performance.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1994Date of Patent: March 5, 1996Assignee: Bruns Brush Inc.
