  • Publication number: 20090272136
Abstract: A domestic appliance includes an interior that can be illuminated by a light source and is surrounded by walls and a door, wherein the interior is illuminated by the light source from the direction of the door, in particular wherein the door has at least one glass area, light from the light source is coupled into the glass area from the direction of an edge, with the result that the light is at least partially guided in the glass area, and the glass area has elements through which some of the light which is guided in the glass area is conducted into the interior. This manner of illumination prevents articles in the interior from having a silhouetted appearance.

  • Publication number: 20090159584
Abstract: A cooking appliance which is mounted in an elevated manner, which comprises at least one muffle which defines a cooking chamber and which comprises a muffle opening which is on the base thereof, a base door which can be displaced and which is used to close the muffle opening, comprising at least one heating field on the upper side thereof and at least one operational state for the open state, wherein the heating field is at least partially connected. The cooking appliance which is mounted in an elevated manner comprises a displacing locking device, which prevents the open base door from being displaced when in the activated operational mode for the open state.

  • Publication number: 20080256986
Abstract: A washing machine contains a friction damper device for a washing unit comprising a tub, a washing drum which is rotationally mounted in the tub and a drive for the washing drum. The washing unit is supported in an elastic manner by at least one damper counter to a lower frame part of the housing. In order to prevent the vibratory behavior of the oscillating unit from being influenced above the rotational speed of the resonance, the friction in the damper above the rotational speed of the resonance can be reduced. As a result, at least one friction covering which interacts directly on a piston rod of the damper is pretensed by an energy store counter to the piston rod and can be displaced away from the piston rod by activating an actuator.

  • Publication number: 20070241100
Abstract: A fluid heating device is provided that is to be mounted in a continuous flow heater and includes at least one heating element embodied as an electric resistance heater, and at least one heat exchanging element that is connected in a heat-conducting manner to the heating element and the fluid so as to transfer the heat generated by the heating element to the fluid. The heat exchanging element forms an integral housing component of a pressure-resistant and temperature-resistant continuous flow heater and is provided with an essentially planar central area on which the heating element is mounted. In order to produce a continuous flow heater, the heating device is joined in a positive, pressure-resistant, and thermally stable manner to a molded part encompassing at least one inlet and at least one outlet so as to form a fluid chamber.

  • Patent number: 7149416
Abstract: A heater for a washer-dryer includes a duct in which heating elements for heating the air flowing through the duct are disposed. A device for increasing the airflow in the area of a heating element is provided in the duct to improve the transportation of heat away from the heating element. The airflow device can be one or more projections on a wall of the duct extending into the duct and can be disposed upstream of the heating element with respect to a flow direction of the air, adjacent the heating element, and/or downstream of the heating element.

  • Patent number: 6485122
Abstract: A heat-insulating wall, such as a refrigerator door or housing, includes a substantially vacuum-tight outer paneling, an inner paneling, a substantially vacuum-tight connecting diaphragm formed from material having low heat conduction, a diaphragm cover formed from material having low heat conduction, and a protective profile with an opposite magnetic pole or a magnetic seal. The diaphragm is respectively vacuum-tightly connected to the inner paneling and to the outer paneling at free borders thereof. The outer paneling, the diaphragm, and the inner paneling define an evacuable cavity that is filled with an evacuable supporting material. The diaphragm cover covers at least a part of the diaphragm. The protective profile is secured one or both of the inner paneling and the outer paneling and substantially covers the diaphragm cover.
