Abstract: A method for determining a target rotational speed below an application rotational speed of a washing drum of a laundry treatment device having a drive and a vibrating system, wherein a dependence of a mechanical effect on items to be washed located in the washing drum on the respective nominal speed of the washing drum is used to ascertain the target rotational speed at which the mechanical effect is at the greatest. The mechanical effect at a respective target rotational speed is ascertained by measuring vibrating system movements of the vibrating system which exhibit greater frequency than the respective target rotational speed. The rotational speed at which the maximum vibrating system movement was measured is selected for carrying out the washing care procedure. The advantage of such a method is that the washing mechanics can be increased, thus improving the cleaning efficiency.
Abstract: A circuit for operating a household appliance, wherein the circuit includes a switched-mode power supply for converting the power supply of a public power supply network into direct supply voltage. The circuit also includes a controller that is connected to the switched-mode power supply for being supplied with the direct supply voltage and for controlling processes of the household appliance. An EMC filter is provided to protect the public supply network from interference signals from the household appliance. The EMC filter includes a condenser that is connected between a phase conductor pole and a neutral conductor pole of the public power supply network; a bleeder resistor that is connected in parallel with the condenser; and a switch that can be activated by the controller to connect the condenser and the bleeder resistor to the neutral conductor pole.

Abstract: A method for treating laundry with washing lye uses a washing machine having a lye discharge system disposed on a base of a lye container, a pivotally supported drum, and a heating device for the direct heating of a load of laundry containing the washing lye. The method includes adding the washing lye to the load in an amount smaller or equal to an amount required for saturation of the laundry with water (“saturation amount”), wetting the laundry, and heating the wetted laundry via the heating device. Water is added at a temperature of no more than 40 degrees Celsius for rinsing the washing lye from the laundry. A washing machine is also configured to be suitable for carrying out the method.
