Abstract: A household appliance includes a controller operating on an energy supply network having a data network for exchanging data via the energy supply network, wherein the network may include smart metering. The controller has a first control component embodies as a computer, a second control component for settings data, a third control component for operating data, and a fourth control component connected with the first control component and including a graph algorithm. The first control component determines data for controlling actuators from the settings data and the operating data. Through cooperation of the first control component, the fourth control component and the graph algorithm, the data from the data network for the household appliance are taken into account so as to allow operation of the household appliance always to continue. A corresponding method for operating such household appliance is also described.

A machine-readable code affixed to the household appliance, in particular the domestic appliance, is detected by an optical detection device of the portable communication device. On the basis of the detected code, a communication link is established between the portable communication device and communication equipment of customer service, specifically automatically via the portable communication device.

Abstract: A tumble dryer includes a drum receiving laundry to be dried and a container accommodating an extinguishing agent, with the drum and the container being connected by a first line. A first temperature-activated valve is arranged in the first line in thermal contact with the interior of the drum and provided to close the container and to open automatically at a temperature produced by a fire. Further connected to the container is a second line which has a mouth feeding into a region of a base plate of the tumble dryer. A second temperature-activated valve is configured to close the second line in a region of the mouth and to open automatically at the temperature produced by the fire. The first and second valves are hereby positioned in such a way that either the first valve or the second valve opens automatically at the temperature produced by the fire.

A securing device is disposed on the support device and constructed to allow manual removal of the mold shell from the ice maker and manual insertion of the mold shell into the ice maker. The securing device has at least one securing rail for pulling out and pushing in the mold shell, and extends parallel to the rotation axis.

The decentralized mains grid can feed power to the public mains grid at a feed tariff. The domestic appliance is powered either from the public mains grid or from the decentralized mains grid depending on a comparison between the tariff from the public mains grid with the feed tariff, wherein the mains grid having a sustained lower consumption tariff than the other mains grid is selected. Abstract: A method and device for controlling a domestic appliance connected to an electric grid so as to allow smart metering, wherein electric power consumed according to different consumption tariffs is measured and the domestic appliance receives information about the availability of a currently applicable consumption tariff or a switch-off condition for preventing peak loads in the grid. The domestic appliance is operated as follows: a) when an inexpensive consumption tariff is available, the appliance is put into operation as intended, and the history of the cleaning process is continuously recorded; b) when an inexpensive consumption tariff is not available or the switch-off condition is met, the appliance is not put into operation or a previously started operation is interrupted; and c) when information about an inexpensive consumption tariff is available, the domestic appliance resumes operation, and a component of a detergent is added based on the recorded history.
