Abstract: A refrigerator including a refrigerator compartment; a freezer compartment; an ice compartment disposed in the refrigerator compartment; an ice maker assembly disposed in the ice compartment, the ice maker assembly including an ice maker tray/evaporator having an evaporator cooling tube which is in direct contact with the ice maker tray portion; an ice bucket for storing ice disposed in the ice compartment; and an air handler/auger motor assembly disposed at a rear portion of the ice compartment behind the ice bucket. The air handler/auger motor assembly includes an air passage having a fan disposed therein. An inlet of the fan communicates with an airflow passage under the ice maker tray/evaporator, such that the fan creates a suction and draws cool air from the ice maker tray/evaporator and discharges the cool air through the air passage and to the ice bucket to prevent any ice in the ice bucket from melting.

Abstract: A domestic appliance for cooling and heating food items and/or beverage items may include a shell, a door, a cooling compartment defined at least in part by the shell and the door, the compartment being configured store the food items and/or the beverage items in a cooled environment and at least one solid state heating element inside of the cooling compartment, the at least one solid state heating element configured to emit infrared radiation to heat at least one of the food items and/or the beverage items without heating the surroundings or other contents of the cooling compartment.

Abstract: A home cooking appliance includes a housing, a cooking compartment in the housing, a flue in the housing and in fluid communication with the cooking compartment for exhausting flue gases from the cooking compartment, an exhaust outlet for exhausting the flue gases from the housing, and a flue boundary connecting the flue and the exhaust outlet, the flue boundary separating flue gases from cooling air flowing through the housing and preventing dilution of flue gases with cooling air. The housing includes a cooling rough-in box having a cooling air flow channel for cooling the rear wall of the flue boundary. The cooling rough-in box includes an opening permitting the cooling air to be drawn into the cooling air flow channel from an exterior of the housing by convection owing to heat on the rear wall of the flue boundary.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for constructing an appliance housing without the need for vertical fasteners. In one or more implementations, the structural components of an appliance housing are fashioned with a set of engagement points and slots, the engagement points and slots acting to physically arrest the structural components when assembled. Horizontal fasteners are then used to further secure the appliance housing.

Abstract: A home cooking appliance includes a housing, a cooking compartment in the housing and accessible through a door in the housing, a cooling air system conveying air through the housing, and an air channel in fluid communication with the cooling air system, the air channel having an outlet exhausting a portion of the air from the cooling air system along a rear wall of the housing.
