Patents Assigned to BUG ELIMINATION AND PREVENTION CORPORATION
  • Patent number: 9565846
Abstract: A container is combined with a base having insect combating features, i.e. for trapping and/or poisoning of insects, preferably but not necessarily combined with insect attracting elements. In particular, the container may be a waste basket, and the targeted insects may be bed bugs, and/or roaches, and/or ants. The assembly has a container portion and a base portion. The interior of the base portion is accessible by insects via one or more small gaps or openings, and contains the trapping and/or poisoning elements, which may include a replaceable glue strip or the like. Preferably, the assembly is also be provided with insect attracting means, which may include chemical attractants, carbon dioxide generation, and/or heat. In some embodiments, separate areas may be provided to combat different insects.

  • Patent number: 9386763
Abstract: A bed bug trap (2) is combined with a conventional power bar (1). Bed bugs can enter the trap via a small gap (6) between the power bar portion and the bed bug trap, where they then fall off a small precipice (14) and onto a glue strip (4, 5) or the like. The assembly can be easily opened for inspection and replacement of glue cartridges (5). Attractants (7, 17, 13) can be provided, including heat via a small heating element (7), chemical attractants (17), and carbon dioxide via a carbon dioxide generator (13). The assembly can be adapted for use with other insects, or an additional trap (91, 92; 110) can be attached for other insects.

  • Publication number: 20140053364
Abstract: The dry steamer apparatus delivers steam and heated air to produce dry steam to treat a surface as a method of eradicating bed bugs or other insect pests, and/or for cleaning purposes. The apparatus provides a vacuum to immediately remove the dry steam, and dead pests and other debris. A treatment substance dispensing assembly may also be provided, to dispense treatment substances onto the surface after steaming and vacuuming. The apparatus may incorporate the vacuum, or may attach to an external vacuum, for example the central vacuum unit of a home. Where the vacuum is part of the apparatus, the vacuum fan may have its exhaust connected to supply air to an assembly to produce the heated air, and if applicable, to the treatment substance dispensing assembly to dispense the treatment substance.

  • Publication number: 20140033597
Abstract: A carbon dioxide generator includes: a storage chamber at the bottom, which is charged with solid that can produce carbon dioxide by adding fluid; a gas chamber above the storage chamber; a fluid inlet and a carbon dioxide outlet on the top of the gas chamber. The storage chamber and the fluid chamber are connected by at least two holes which permit fluid to enter the storage chamber and carbon dioxide to escape from the storage to the fluid chamber. A method of using this generator to produce carbon dioxide includes adding fluid to the generator. It can supply an even and targeted carbon dioxide output, making it useful for attracting bed bugs or mosquitos to bed bug or mosquito traps for detection and/or elimination.

  • Publication number: 20130180161
Abstract: The bed bug trap has more than one trapping area, each trapping area associated with one or more discrete bed bug sources, such that finding a bed bug in one particular trapping area indicates that the bed bug must have arrived there from one or more specific sources, whereas finding a bed bug in another particular trapping area indicates that the bed bug must have arrived there from one or more other specific sources. The bed bug trap may also be provided with bed bug attracting means, which may include heat, and/or chemical attractants, and/or carbon dioxide. In some embodiment, the bottom surface of the trapping area may be sloped towards one or more accumulation areas for easier inspection.

  • Publication number: 20130180162
Abstract: The bed bug trap has a base, and a lid sealable against the base but leaving a gap in at least a portion around the periphery between the base and the lid. The base has a recess therein containing a glue pad, preferably on a removable and replaceable tray. The outer portion of the base is sufficiently textured for a bed bug to be able to climb into and enter the trap through the gap. A carbon dioxide generator is connectable to the trap. A heat pad may be clipped to the trap. A travel kit includes the bed bug trap and other items which may include the carbon dioxide generator, the heat pack, and other accessories.

  • Publication number: 20120246998
Abstract: A bed bug trap includes heat, carbon dioxide and/or semiochemicals (pheromones and/or kairomones), to attract and trap bed bugs. The trap may be combined with the appearance and/or function of another appliance, such as an air freshener. The release of semiochemicals may be combined with the release of air freshening compositions. The bed bug trap may provide one attraction mode, or two attraction modes, namely one which uses heat, carbon dioxide and/or kairomones to attract bed bugs seeking a meal, and the other which uses pheromones to attract bed bugs seeking a safe harbor, i.e. a hiding place. The bed bug trap may be combined with a wide variety of appliances, such as air fresheners, alarm clocks, clock radios, humidifiers, desk or table lamps, power bars, etc..
