Patent number: 4830866Abstract: A process is described for manufacturing of farinaceous products in which the soft farinaceous product leaving a molding head is conveyed through differentially heated climatic zone and is cooled and/or dimensionally stabilized after completion of the drying process. The farinaceous product is heated to a temperature of 80.degree. to 100.degree. C. with at least slight initial drying and freshly expanded superheated steam is then allowed to flow around it for about 30 seconds to 20 minutes. In this process the native starch of the boundary layer of the farinaceous product is converted into swelling starch. Finally the farinaceous product is dried in a controlled drying climate.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 1986Date of Patent: May 16, 1989Assignee: Gebruder Buhler AGInventors: Josef Manser, Werner Seiler, Friedrich Egger

Patent number: 4730789Abstract: An agitator mill has an arrangement for diminishing the pressure of the attritive elements towards the outlet. This arrangement comprises particularly means for generating a force pointing away from at least one separator opening forming a passage for the product, but retaining the attritive elements within the milling container. This force affects substantially selectively only the attritive elements. According to one embodiment, this force acts upon the attritive elements in counter-direction to the direction of flow of the product. The force may either be a centrifugal force acting selectively onto the relative large mass of the attritive element or a magnetic force acting selectively upon steel balls, iron balls or the like used as attritive elements.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 1983Date of Patent: March 15, 1988Assignee: Gebruder Buhler AGInventor: Armin Geiger

Patent number: 4711622Abstract: A pellet mill comprises a die which may rotatably be driven by a suitable drive. At least one press roller engages the inner surface of this die, and material to be pelleted is fed to this press roller by means of a deflector blade situated before. This deflector blade is arranged at least 45.degree. before the related press roller--as seen in the direction of the rotation of the die--so that a free space of at least 45.degree. will result therebetween. Within this free space, the centrifugal force due to the rotation of the die becomes effective and contributes to a better distribution of the material.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 1985Date of Patent: December 8, 1987Assignee: Gebruder Buhler AGInventor: Hanspeter Schaffner

Patent number: 4704845Abstract: The process serves for closing filled bags (52) making use of an approximately horizontal conveying track (3). The bags are fed on a conveying track with constant conveying speed to a spreading apparatus (16 to 51) and then to a closing station (12, 13). In order that the bag material be stressed as little as possible in the case of a greater capacity, provision is made for a movement to be superimposed on the spreading tools (21) of the spreading apparatus during the spreading process, in the conveying direction (4), that attains the conveying speed, at latest, at the end of the spreading process. In this fashion, the bag end is spread apart without the bag experiencing a delay by the spreading tools (21) reaching therein.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 1986Date of Patent: November 10, 1987Assignee: Gebruder Buhler AGInventor: Gmur Bruno

Patent number: 4657773Abstract: For dressing, seed is thrown off in dispensed doses into a trough-shaped rotary table (36) in the form of a free-falling annular veil. During its freefall, the seed is guided through a jet of dressing in the form of an annular surface, which is thrown outwards from the interior of the annular veil and which is generated when dressing is thrown out via a centrifugal plate (36), and is wetted with dressing. During the subsequent throwing out on the rotary table (9), the seed is subjected again to dressing which is finely distributed on and massaged into the grain surface because the seed grains roll on the rotary table (9) continuously and at the same time strike against one another and rub on one another.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 1985Date of Patent: April 14, 1987Assignee: Gebruder Buhler AGInventor: Roman Mueller

Patent number: 4635861Abstract: A roller mill, in which the milling rollers are pressed together with high pressures, has a fluidic device for imparting the respective pressure. This fluidic device comprises piston-cylinder units and a pressure line for the fluid. In order to obtain a skewing of at least one roller in dependency upon the pressure exerted by the fluidic device, pressure sensitive means are interposed between the pressure line and a displacing device for the skewing angle. In this way, a pressure signal may be transferred to a converter for converting the pressure into a corresponding displacement stroke. Preferably, at least one roller has a basic camber or crown which corresponds to a pressure within a lower range of the occurring pressures.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 1985Date of Patent: January 13, 1987Assignee: Gebruder Buhler AGInventor: Heinz Resch

Patent number: 4597405Abstract: FIG. 2 illustrates a process and an apparatus for controlling a controllable magnitude as well as the use of the process, especially for controlling the throughput of pourable or flowable material (grain or water) in a flour mill. In this connection, a servo drive, constructed as a fluidic pressure drive (5', V'), is provided for controlling a servo element. The deviation, measured by a comparator (1'), is supplied to a discriminator (10), which then gives off a first discrimination signal (+U.sub.F, -U.sub.F) when the deviation has reached a first (lower) or second (upper) threshold value, the two threshold values lying within a range of small deviations about zero. In this range of small deviations, the pressure drive (5') is acted upon by transient micropressures (rapid pressure fluctuations with small peak values), the reversal points of the microfluctuations depending on the two aforementioned threshold values.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1983Date of Patent: July 1, 1986Assignee: Gebruder Buhler AGInventors: Hans Oetiker, Emanuel Kummer

Patent number: 4442980Abstract: The invention describes a new type of automation for a roller carriage. The amount of product conveyed to the roller carriage is constantly subject to fluctuations, and is determined by a mechanical probe. A corresponding signal directly activates a pneumatic valve, and control pressure adjusts the instantaneous performance of the grinding rolls. The pneumatic valve has a so-called zero position, and becomes a follower control device by means of servo-media and the adjusting mechanism of the performance-dependent elements in the roller carriage. At the same time, the control pressure in the pneumatic valve can start and stop the grinding rolls.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 1981Date of Patent: April 17, 1984Assignee: Bebruder Buhler AG.Inventors: Hans Oetiker, Robert Linzberger, Leendert Ketting, Werner Winteler
