  • Patent number: 6543990
Abstract: A palletizing system includes a reusable pallet and a reusable anchoring device for securing a load. The anchoring device comprises a strap and clamping mechanism for selectively receiving and clamping to the strap and, alternatively, releasing the strap. The pallet includes a base and one or more housings fixed to the base for receiving the clamping mechanism. Each housing has an opening for receiving the clamping mechanism and providing access to the clamping mechanism so that the clamping mechanism can be manipulated in the housing, and an aperture for receiving the strap, the aperture being sized to prevent the clamping mechanism from passing through the aperture.

  • Patent number: 6524040
Abstract: A pallet for wheeled items comprises a base frame, a platform on the base frame, a first plurality of ramps on the base frame and sloping from the platform toward the base and a first end of the base frame, and a second plurality of ramps on the base frame and sloping from the platform toward the base frame and a second end of the base frame. The support, the first plurality of ramps, and the second plurality of ramps are structured and arranged so that when the first wheeled item is shifted on its wheels from the support surface along the first plurality of ramps and a second of the wheeled items is shifted on its wheels along the support surface along the second plurality of ramps, the undercarriages of the first and second wheeled items move toward the platform and the wheels of the item nest into the platform. Systems for securing items to the pallet including brackets and strapping mechanisms are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6418862
Abstract: A pallet comprising a base and a plurality of support members attached to the base. Each support member comprises an upper housing, a lower housing and shock absorbing material located within the two housings. When a force or vibration is exerted on the pallet the upper housing and lower housing move to a compressed configuration thereby reducing the amount of shock transferred to the upper face of the pallet. When the force on the pallet is removed, the upper housing and lower housing return to an expanded configuration.

  • Patent number: 6263806
Abstract: A pallet for a wheeled item comprises a base frame having openings for receiving forklift arms, a plurality of tracks mounted on the base frame for receiving the wheels of the item, and a plurality of ramps mounted on the base frame and sloping from the tracks toward the base frame so that when the wheeled item is shifted on the wheels from the tracks along the ramps, the undercarriage of the wheeled item comes to rest on the pallet. Wheeled items can be quickly loaded and secured on the pallet and can be manipulated with a forklift for storing wheeled items in stacked relation. The pallet can be designed to store wheeled items with aligned or offset casters.

  • Patent number: 6240854
Abstract: A palletizing system for a wheeled item comprising an undercarriage and wheels extending from the undercarriage. The pallet includes a plurality of ramps on a base frame sloping from a support toward the base frame and the palletizing system includes at least one selectively removable bridging member for placement in one of the plurality of ramps for forming a track along which the wheels of the item can roll over the one of the plurality of ramps. The support and the plurality of ramps are structured and arranged so that when the bridging member is removed from the at least one of the plurality of ramps and the wheeled item is shifted on the wheels from the support surface along the plurality of ramps, the undercarriage of the wheeled item comes to rest on the support surface.

  • Patent number: 6112672
Abstract: A selectively arrangeable pallet for supporting conventional and unconventional loads and for reducing shock and vibrations on the loads. The selectively arrangeable pallet includes a base and a tray. The base and tray are selectively arrangeable in an overlaying relationship relative to each other in a nested configuration and alternatively in an expanded configuration. The tray is capable of being inverted relative to the base into the nested configuration to permit a first load-bearing surface of the tray to support the conventional loads and into the expanded configuration to permit a second load-bearing surface to support the unconventional loads. The second load-bearing surface of the tray includes a plurality of relatively spaced support pads for reducing shock and vibration. The support pads correspond with a plurality of relatively spaced recess in an upper surface of the base.
