Abstract: In an example embodiment, a method of performing data profiling in an in-memory database is provided. A command requesting a data attribute calculation on data in the in-memory database may be received. The data attribute calculation may then be performed on the data in the in-memory database by utilizing a precreated procedure in the in-memory database, the precreated procedure described in a computer language utilized by the in-memory database. Finally, a result of the performing of the data attribute calculation may be returned to the client computer.

Abstract: A document may contain summary information and detailed information, and the detailed information may be replaced with a set of printed machine-readable codes when the document is printed. As examples of such machine-readable codes, quick response codes (QR codes) may be used by a system to encode detailed information. For example, the system may access one or more tables of information as a list or file of comma-separated values (CSV), and the system may encode the one or more tables into corresponding QR codes. Each QR code hence may function as a “virtual” CSV file embedded in the printed report. A user may use a smart phone read the QR codes from the final printed report, and the smart phone may execute a software application that decodes and presents the detailed information to the user.

Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to receive an original query plan, to transform the original query plan into an equivalent executable compact query plan, and to store the compact query plan on a machine readable device. Further activities may include computing maximal source sub-queries associated with the compact query plan, and computing semi-join reductions of the maximal source sub-queries to provide an executable derivative query plan, which may also be stored on a machine readable device. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are described.

Abstract: A system may include a display to present a visualization comprising a plurality of graphical indicators, each of the graphical indicators associated with a respective one of a plurality of entities of interest, a touch-sensitive input surface to receive a touch input at a first portion of the visualization representing a current physical location of the apparatus and a drag input on the display device from the first portion to a second portion of the visualization, and a processor to filter the plurality of graphical indicators based on a distance between the first portion and the second portion. Filtering of the plurality of graphical indicators may include determination of a second distance based on the distance between the first portion and the second portion, and determination of at least one of the plurality of entities of interest, each of the at least one of the plurality of entities of interest located less than the second distance from the current physical location of the apparatus.

Abstract: An adaptive automatic change management for computer system landscapes is described herein. A predefined set of attributes are extracted or obtained for a computer system artifact, together with a number of values assigned to the set of attributes. A unique identification section is created and distributed among the computer systems in the landscape based on the set of attributes and the assigned values, where the unique identification section encompass computer system artifacts of a same kind. A modification of an artifact of the same kind is tracked at a computer system. The tracked modification is automatically applied in the computer system to one or more incoming computer system artifacts of the same kind.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, a method of automatically generating data validation rules from data stored in a column of a table is provided. Outliers for the data are determined by analyzing a profiling statistic for the data, the profiling statistic having a type. Then it is determined if a predefined limit is exceeded, based on a quantity of the outliers determined for the data through the analysis of the profiling statistic. A data validation rule is then automatically generated based on non-outliers detected in the data through the analysis of the profiling statistic, the generated data validation rule also being based on the type of the profiling statistic. The data validation rule can then be applied to data subsequently entered for the column, causing at least a portion of the data subsequently entered for the column to be rejected.

Abstract: A method and a system are described that involve generating a graphical tree hierarchy of a data structure and its accompanying metadata. In one embodiment, the method includes building a graphical tree hierarchy with a plurality of levels, wherein the graphical tree hierarchy includes at least a root node, a plurality of non-leaf nodes, and a plurality of leaf nodes. Further, the method includes aggregating at least a portion of the plurality of non-leaf nodes at a level of the graphical tree hierarchy, if a subset of the plurality of non-leaf nodes residing at the level exceeds a maximum number of nodes per the level. The method also includes scaling down the plurality of leaf nodes, if the plurality of levels of the graphical tree hierarchy exceeds a maximum number of levels.

Abstract: Techniques for managing content on a computing device include identifying a data object including business data values defined in a structured format, the structured format including the business data values defined by two or more first dimensions and one or more second dimensions; determining a particular first dimension of the two or more first dimensions and a particular second dimension of the one or more second dimensions; generating a display grid that is displayable on a computing device, the display grid including a portion of the business data values corresponding to the particular first dimension and the particular second dimension; and preparing the display grid for display on the computing device.

Abstract: A system for a rapid deployment of software system includes a rapid deployment preparation module and a rapid deployment module. The rapid deployment preparation module archives a machine-independent portion of a software system preinstalled and preconfigured on a source machine. The rapid deployment module unpacks and installs the machine-independent portion of the software system on a target machine. The rapid deployment module then reconstructs a machine-dependent portion of the software system on the target machine using the target machine specific data.

Abstract: A computer readable medium is configured to receive a description of a COBOL copybook that can be represented in one of a plurality of disparate formats, to parse the COBOL copybook based on the description of the COBOL copybook, and to create a standardized data record schema based on the COBOL copybook. The description of the COBOL copybook includes information about the format of the COBOL copybook.

Abstract: Reading at least one item of information stored on a mobile device that is associated with at least one contact stored on the mobile device and creating a cleaning request for the at least one read item of information associated with the at least one contact. Submitting the cleaning request to a remote web services provider for processing and receiving a response from the remote web services provider with a cleaned version of the at least one item of information associated with the at least one contact. Providing a user interface on the mobile device for viewing the cleaned version of the at least one item of information and in response to a user selection of the cleaned version of the at least one item of information, updating the corresponding unclean item of information stored on the mobile device to the cleaned version of said item of information.

Abstract: A computer readable storage medium includes executable instructions to provide a Graphical User Interface with a plurality of visualization types and a semi-structured workspace. A drag-and-drop of a visualization type into a drop zone in the semi-structured workspace is received. The drop zone corresponds to a location in the semi-structured workspace where an associated visualization is displayed. A link is created between the associated visualization and a query to a data source.

Abstract: Data read from a database may be transferred to an external system utilizing a dynamic interface, through a remote procedure call (RPC) communication mechanism. In particular embodiments within the SAP environment, data is transferred utilizing an executable program in a high level language such as Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP). Data may be streamed from the ABAP executable program directly to a Data Services Job engine via a NetWeaver remote function call (NWRFC) C/C++ connector.

Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to receive a first identification of two or more records that match and to search at least two sources of data to locate a set of potential matching records, based on element transformation to determine common characteristics of the two or more records. Further activities may include publishing the set of potential matching records, receiving a second identification of matching members of the set, and searching at least one repository to locate further matching records based on the second identification and the common characteristics. Abstract: Various embodiments of systems and methods for electronic processing of context-aware business events are described. According to one aspect, business events are enriched with more business semantics by encapsulating business contexts that define the events' producing environment. The produced context-aware events include a structure of context items describing with system and application parameters the producing environment when the events originally happened. During reconstruction of the structure of context items, the contextual business information is retrieved and can be included in the business events to provide the event consumer with more information about the business event.

Abstract: Various embodiments of systems and methods for aligning records for visual comparison are described herein. In one aspect, the method includes identifying a plurality of records. A reference record is selected from the plurality of records. One or more non-reference record is merged into the reference record to generate a merged reference record. The merged reference record includes one or more fields missing in the reference record. The missing fields are included as blank fields from the non-reference records. The merged reference record is merged into a non-reference record to generate the merged non-reference record. The merged non-reference record includes fields missing in the non-reference record. Missing fields are included as blank fields. The merged records are displayed on a user interface in a card view.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for deploying one or more plug-ins. The method and systems involve receiving a request for generating a graphical user interface at a client computing device, the request includes a configuration for flash content of the graphical user interface, identifying a one or more plug-ins associated with the request and at least one extension of the identified one or more plug-ins, the one or more plug-ins having been deployed at a plurality of content servers across plurality of platform types and stored in a plug-in repository, retrieving the identified one or more plug-ins based on the extension of the identified one or more plug-ins and generating the requested graphical user interface based on the retrieved one or more plug-ins.

Abstract: A system and method for simplifying data access between tiers in a multi-tier system is disclosed. In an embodiment, a method is provided for receiving a request for service from a browser at a generic data access object (GDAO) layer; generating, by use of a data processor, a single, shared, generic data transfer object (GDTO) at the GDAO layer; calling through to a database tier, the database tier providing database metadata; and using the database metadata to include result data in the GDTO and return the GDTO in response to the request.

Abstract: A dashboard evaluator is disclosed. The dashboard evaluator evaluates a dashboard design for its effectiveness in providing the information. The dashboard evaluator determines a compliance score to indicate a level of compliance with dashboard design principles. The design principles may be tailored to a specific purpose and/or user.
