  • Patent number: 8435357
Abstract: A tablet compressing machine and a process for cleaning a tablet compressing machine with a rotor unit, in which an actuator is provided for the purpose of tilting a sealed housing of the tablet compressing machine, in which the rotor unit, a rinsing unit and the powder supply are disposed, so that the cleaning liquid may drain off horizontal surfaces in the sealed housing. The process therefore comprises the steps of distributing the cleaning liquid, tilting the tablet compressing machine and discharging the cleaning liquid. Retrofitting of existing tablet compressing machines is possible.

  • Patent number: 6129038
Abstract: A tablet coating machine for applying a coating to a bed of tablets, the machine comprising a circular drum with frusto-conical ends which is rotated about its axis. The periphery of the drum is perforated to allow air to flow through the bed of tablets disposed in the drum under the action of a suction shoe. In order to be able to optimise the efficiency of the tablet coating process for different quantities of tablets, the volumetric capacity of the drum is adjustable to achieve a desired tablet depth for the quantity of tablets being processed. More particularly an axially adjustable wall portion is provided within the drum to adjust the length of the tablet containing portion of the drum. The wall portion is made up of segments which are dimensioned to fit through an opening into the drum by which tablets are introduced into the drum.

  • Patent number: 6068465
Abstract: A rotary tabletting press for the production of tables comprises a rotatable turret carrying a die plate having a plurality of die cavities, each comprising a through bore having upper and lower openings, and respective pairs of upper and lower punches to work in each die cavity. Tabletting material enters the die cavities by an upper opening which is enclosed within a chamber disposed above the die plate. Dosing control of the die cavities comprises a fixed scraper blade disposed adjacent the upper surface of the die plate and intercepting the path of the die cavities. The turret comprises axially separable upper and lower parts and the chamber is defined between the upper and lower pans. A die clamping system includes a plurality of shouldered dies which accommodate a respective die cavity and which are simultaneously located in position. A common die clamping element is located axially when the upper housing part is in its operating position.
