Patent number: 8123495Abstract: A positive-displacement reciprocating compressor comprising a “non-conventional” crank mechanism which eliminates the amount of frictional force between the wall of the piston and the wall of the cylinder, whose characteristic feature is to have a planet (20) made of sintered material, with self-lubrication properties, allowing to eliminate bushings or similar additional elements. An economical and structurally simple lubrication system, which preferably comprises a classical link rod/crank mechanism, utilizes the mechanical energy provided by the drive shaft of the compressor and sends the lubricant (oil) in a precise manner to the surfaces that need to be lubricated. This oil is easily retained by the very small grains of the sintered material. Moreover, a valve system based on a single plate simplifies the structure of the cylinder unit (30).Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 2007Date of Patent: February 28, 2012Assignee: LA.ME. s.r.lInventors: Andrea Di Foggia, Mariano Migliaccio, Ottavio Pennacchia

Publication number: 20090192003Abstract: By producing a planet (4) in accordance with the technology of sintered materials it becomes possible to solve the problems of structural complexity/space, because the planet (4) realized in this way can be directly mounted on the rotor of the driving shaft without the interposition of bushings, by relying on the very good tribological properties of sintered materials; moreover, this material, by virtue of its texture composed of micro-granules, has excellent properties of fatigue strength and yield/breaking tensions very near to the corresponding parameters of a compact material.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 30, 2007Publication date: July 30, 2009Applicant: LA.ME S.R.L.Inventors: Andrea Di Foggia, Mariano Migliaccio, Ottavio Pennacchia

Publication number: 20090191075Abstract: A positive displacement pump whose structure allows to increase the pressure of the lubricant taken from the oil sump, wherein the free level surface of the lubricant could even be located far away from the rotating members of the machine. This applies specifically to reciprocating, air compressors, which generally have an oil sump arranged very distant from the drive shaft used to transmit the motion needed for the actuation of the pump. The pump is based on a crank mechanism (7, 7?, 7?; 13; 13?) that sucks the lubricant and delivers it under pressure, in a target-oriented manner, to the components which require lubrication.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 28, 2007Publication date: July 30, 2009Applicant: LA.ME S.R.L.Inventors: Andrea Di Foggia, Mariano Migliaccio, Ottavio Pennacchia
