The formulations may also be used to promote or induce proliferation of intestinal cells, promote or induce differentiation of intestinal cells, prevent or inhibit growth of enteropathogenic Escherichia coli in the digestive system of a subject, prevent or inhibit bacterial growth in the intestinal lumen, increase interleukin-18 secretion by intestinal cells, or increase intestinal immunity.
