Patents Assigned to Byrne & Davidson Doors (N.S.W.) Pty. Limited
  • Patent number: 4844140
Abstract: A releasable drive assembly is described, suitable for use with a rolling door. The illustrated assembly comprises a chassis, a final drive unit rotatably mounted to the chassis for operating the door, a motor fixed with respect to the chassis, drive means interconnecting the motor with the final drive unit, the drive means including a clutch for releasing and re-engaging the motor and the final drive unit, the clutch including a slidable clutch unit keyed for rotation with one part of the drive means and having axially projecting formations respectively engageable and disengageable with mating formations on the other part of the drive means upon sliding movement of the clutch unit, latchable disengagement means for selective engagement with the slidable clutch unit for sliding the clutch unit into and out of engagement with the mating formations, the disengagement means being latchable to hold the clutch unit in its disengaged position.

  • Patent number: 4831509
Abstract: A door controller for roller type doors is disclosed incorporating a microprocessor control system. The microprocessor measures and stores the door speed over segments of the door travel to generate a door speed travel characteristic. This characteristic enables the door controller to accurately assess obstruction conditions by comparing a real time characteristic with a stored characteristic. The microprocessor also stores electronically the upper and lower limits of door travel. The microprocessor monitors electric motor duty cycle to avoid overheating of the motor and possible burnout while also controlling locking of the drive mechanism when the motor is inoperative. The microprocessor is also used to set the radio control signal code used to activate the door drive mechanism, the setting procedure allows for immediate verification of the set code.

  • Patent number: 4219067
Abstract: An anti-rattle element for a curtain of a closure, the curtain having a corrugated surface and, adjacent to its edges, either a strap riveted to crests of each corrugation or bridges extending across the troughs of the corrugations. The strap or bridges form detent surfaces engageable by a resilient latching tongue protruding rearwardly from a body of the anti-rattle element. The tongue has a tip that engages either the bridge or the strap to hold the anti-rattle element to the curtain. The body of the element also has first and second abutment side faces and a rear face having a recess therein which embraces a portion of an edge margin of the curtain. The anti-rattle element is connected to the curtain in such manner that its abutment faces are disposed respectively on opposite sides of the curtain and face outwardly therefrom.
