  • Patent number: 5196985
Abstract: A static-conductive wrist band is presented. The static-conductive wrist band has an electrically non-conductive surface opposed by an electrically conductive surface. A connector is disposed on the non-conductive surface and is in electrical contact with the electrically conductive surface. A ground strap may be connected from the connector on the wrist band to a suitable ground, thereby discharging and prohibiting static buildup on the wearer. In accordance with an important feature of this invention, the wrist band comprises a spring consisting of a resilient strip which can be converted from a self supporting elongated configuration to an axially coiled configuration. The spring provides the means for retaining the strap about a wearer's wrist.
