Abstract: A method for the control of a wound rotor synchronous motor comprises measuring a plurality of electromagnetic entities indicative of the operation of the motor, generating voltage on a stator of the motor to obtain a stator current, further generating a further voltage on the rotor to obtain a rotor current, before the generating and the further generating, the entities being processed to calculate references for the stator current and for the rotor current, the references corresponding to the generation by the motor of the maximum torque obtainable per ampere of stator current supplied.
