Abstract: System and method for even order and odd order nonlinear distortion of a compensating signal that removes substantially all of the nonlinear distortion in one order or in two orders. Two or more diodes are arranged in at least one of an anti-series configuration and an anti-parallel configuration in which a circuit voltage is equal to a selected odd order and/or to a selected even order in current, plus higher order terms that are often negligible. The diodes may be replaced by other selected nonlinear devices.

Abstract: An adaptive high pass filter is used to reduce signal noise such as that occurring on a CATV upstream carrier. A signal detector senses a lowest active frequency on a CATV transmission. A high pass filter is then adjusted to cut off transmissions at frequencies below the lowest active frequency. This reduces ingress noise present in the upstream channel.
Abstract: A predistortion circuit and method provides signals to oppose and cancel an anticipated phase and frequency distortion in a coupled electrical system. The predistortion circuitry includes first and second subcircuits which include opposing diodes, providing 180 degree out-of-phase and in-phase signals to produce second, third and higher order predistortion outputs.
