Publication number: 20100283603Abstract: A plant matter sensor, the sensor includes a pair of parallel spaced apart sensor arms and a control console, a first of the arms having a plurality of emitter means spaced along its length, each emitter configured and arranged to, in use, emit a signal substantially perpendicularly to the arm to be received by a corresponding receiver on the second arm. The console contains controller means to, in use, control the rate, strength and regularity of the signal emitted by each of the said emitters, collectors to, in use, collect data from each receiver as to the existence or absence of receipt of a signal, a processor to process data received from the controllers and the collectors and determine the height of any plant matter traversed by the plant matter sensor and predetermined intervals, and storage to store the plant matter height data generated by the processor for subsequent download or analysis.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 8, 2006Publication date: November 11, 2010Applicants: MASSEY UNIVERSITY, C-Dax Systems Limited, Farmworks LimitedInventors: Ian Yule, Robert Murray, Hayden Lawrence, Colin Sanson, James Frederick Stewart, Willem-Peter Vander Laan

Patent number: 7370665Abstract: A tank which is primarily intended for spraying applications and mountable on an all terrain vehicle (“ATV”). The tank (10) includes a main tank section (11) which, in use, extends laterally of the ATV and at least one longitudinally extending arm 12. The pump assembly is located in a cavity (14) in the underside of the main tank section (11). A cover (15) can cover the cavity (14) to mount the pump assembly in place. The tank (10) can include a removable auxiliary tank (21).Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2006Date of Patent: May 13, 2008Assignee: C-Dax Systems LimitedInventors: Warwick Bruce Smith, Christopher Torr

Patent number: 6749128Abstract: A spray control device for use with vehicle mountable spraying apparatus having a pump for conveying fluid under pressure to a spray head. The control device has a pressure sensor for sensing the pressure of the fluid near the spray head. A speed sensor enables calculation of vehicle speed. An adjustment device adjusts the delivery of fluid to the spray head. A microprocessor is programmed to calculate from information derived from the pressure sensor and speed sensor spray application rate. The microprocessor compares the application rate with a stored target application rate to thereby cause the adjustment device to, if necessary, adjust the pump so that the pressure of fluid delivery achieves the target application rate.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2001Date of Patent: June 15, 2004Assignee: C-Dax Systems LimitedInventor: Michael Henry Aart Oosterman
