  • Patent number: 5022862
Abstract: Connector formed by the juxtapositioning of modules whose bases (1a, 1b, 1c) have dimensions similar to those of a surface mounted component, so as to be able to gripped and positioned by the same machine, and have connecting elements passing therethrough with one of their ends bent back under the base, characterized in that the modules are not mechanically fixed to each other and held solely by soldering the bent back ends (5b) of the connecting elements on tracks (6) of a printed circuit (7).

  • Patent number: 4708447
Abstract: An apparatus for the endless projection of a cinematographic film comprises a horizontal, rotatable table (24) and a winding drum (34) positioned in the center of the table. The film (22) to be projected is formed to a film roll (25) surrounding the winding drum (34). An annular body (61) of the winding drum (34) is provided at its outer periphery with a great number of rotatable support rollers (64) having vertical axles (65), for radially supporting the innermost winding of the film roll (25). On the upper side of the table (24) a plurality of horizontal support rollers (40, 41) are arranged, the axles of which are radial to the table (24). The axial length of each horizontal support roller (40, 41) is substantially shorter than the radial dimension of the table (24). The annular body (61) of the winding drum (34) is provided with a radial slit (120), through which the innermost winding of the film roll (25) can be drawn off.

  • Patent number: 4536748
Abstract: Each sensor of the system is connected to a central station and is interrogated cyclically. In turn, the sensors generate over a bus line a variable amplitude signal synthesized from data stored in a read only memory. Each sensor has a read only memory with different data and thus generates a different waveform during successive intervals of time. Any modification in the waveform of the signal transmitted by a sensor is interpreted as an alarm due to the detection of an intrusion, for example, or due to an attempt at sabotaging the sensor or the bus lines. The complexity of the waveforms synthesized by the sensors makes a simulation very difficult intended to neutralize the remote monitoring system.

  • Patent number: 4223573
Abstract: An automotive transmission with three forward speeds and three reverse speeds is automatically upshifted or downshifted under the control of a speed sensor coacting with an output shaft of that transmission. The engine is automatically decelerated and accelerated during upshifting and downshifting, respectively, for a smooth transition from one speed ratio to the next. A changeover from forward driving to reverse, or vice versa, with the aid of a manual mode selector is possible only at relatively low shaft speeds. Another manual selector is settable to limit the operation of the system to one or two speed ratios in either the forward or the reverse mode.

  • Patent number: 4168400
Abstract: In a digital communication system in which the information is transmitted by successions of bits termed packets, stations may be called upon to perform the function of a relay between other stations. The stations which may be called upon to perform the function of a relay comprise: a checking device which merely checks the address code of a packet received; an eliminating and switching device which either destroys the packet (doubtful address code) or orients the packet toward receiving means pertaining to the station (address code identical to the code of the station) or toward the station corresponding to the address code by passing through a transit memory; and information producing means for producing packets within the station. The contents of the transit memory are transmitted in priority by the station.

  • Patent number: 4063040
Abstract: For multiplexing 6 binary channels for example, two transcoders are respectively fed by the groups of input channels A, B, C and D, E, F in each of which is inserted a locking and identification word. Two three-channel frames in intermediate ternary form are thus obtained. Conversion into definitive ternary code (moment +, O, -) takes place at the same time as the interlacing, moment by moment, of the two three-channel frames. The demultiplexer groups the moments pertaining to one and the same three-channel frame for transcoding. The system allows high speed multiplexing.

  • Patent number: 3969617
Abstract: In a modulator of the type including a memory in which coded binary words representative of samples of a cycle of a sinusoidal signal are stored, which coded words are used to synthesize the modulated signal, the bits of each input digital signal S.sub.i are grouped in groups of P.sub.i bits (P.sub.i .gtoreq.1) and the sampling of the groups is so performed that several samples of each group appear in the multiplexed signal resulting from the sampling. Each sample of each group causes the reading of a coded word. This process gives a wide range of possibilities as concerns the transmission speeds of the input channels and the choice of the carrier frequency and of the number of modulation levels for each modulated signal.
