  • Patent number: 6889847
Abstract: A feeder arrangement for the individual feeding of timber pieces (10) to a downwardly moving conveyor (2) includes an incoming conveyor (7) and projecting carriers (23) on the downwardly moving conveyor (2). The incoming conveyor (7) is disposed for the feeding of timber pieces (10). The carriers (23) incline obliquely downwards and outwards from the downwardly moving conveyor (2). A curved guide space (21) is disposed to overlap, with a lower end portion, an upper portion of the downwardly moving conveyor (2). The angle of curvature of the guide space (21) is so great that the upper side of a timber piece (10) which comes to guide space (21) will be turned to face downwards when the timber piece (10) rests on a carrier (23). The incoming conveyor (7) has an end portion which is turned to face towards the guide space (21) and which is approximately horizontal.

  • Patent number: 6860709
Abstract: An apparatus for placing out spacer sticks on a board stack (1) comprises a feeder device (5) for the individual discharge of spacer sticks (3). The feeder device (5) is placed in association with one short end of the stack (1). Further, the apparatus has a conveyor device which is located above the stack (1) for conveying spacer sticks (3) from the feeder device (5) to positions over the stack (1). At least those parts of the conveyor device which are located under the spacer sticks (3) are disposed to be movable in the lateral direction between advancement positions over the stack (1) and release positions outside the stack. As a result, the spacer sticks (3) are movable from position over the stack (1) to positions where they rest on the stack (1). A method for placing spacer sticks on a board stack is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6776293
Abstract: An apparatus for sorting individual timber pieces of different dimensions and or qualities into a number of mutually superposed sorting compartments (1) comprises a conveyor and a transfer device (12). The conveyor transports individual timber pieces places in the vertical direction along the infeed ends of the sorting compartments (1). The longitudinal direction of the timber pieces is approximately horizontal and transversely directed in relation to the longitudinal direction of the sorting compartments (1). The transfer device (12) transfers a specific timber piece place from the conveyor to a specific sorting compartment (1). The transfer device (12) has a least one transfer member (13) per sorting compartment (1). Each transfer member (13) is movable between a passive position outside the path (4) of the conveyor and an active position within the path (4) of the conveyor.

  • Patent number: 6216846
Abstract: A method of turning boards (2) comprises the steps that the boards (2) are transported on a conveyor (1) with conveyor dogs (4), with their longitudinal direction transverse to the conveyor (1). The boards (2) are accelerated relative to the conveyor (1) until the front edges (13) of the boards (2) abut against the rear edge (14) of the next dog (4). Lifting devices (16) which move synchronously with the conveyor (1) lift the front edges of the boards (2) at the same time as the boards (2) are moved towards the lifting devices (16), whereby the boards (2) are turned with their front edges facing upwards and backwards. An apparatus for turning boards comprises a first conveyor (1) with dogs (4) for transport of the boards (2), and a second conveyor (11) with an upper part (12) which, on the first conveyor (1), shunts the boards from one dog (4) to the next.
