Patents Assigned to C. H. Heist Corporation
  • Patent number: 4469125
Abstract: A quick release valve including a housing, a high pressure fluid inlet in the housing, a fluid outlet in the housing, a first plunger having a valve member at a first end thereof, a second annular plunger axially aligned with the first plunger and having a seat on the end thereof for receiving the valve member, a toggle linkage mounted between the housing and the second end of the first plunger for maintaining the valve member on the seat when the toggle linkage is overcenter but permitting the valve member to pull away from the seat when the toggle linkage is broken, and a lever with a weight thereon attached to the toggle linkage for biasing the toggle linkage to a broken condition but which is ineffective for doing so when the toggle linkage is in an overcenter position as a result of fluid pressure being exerted on the valve member.

  • Patent number: 4112535
Abstract: (1) A wall cleaning unit including a housing with an open side for placement in contiguous relationship to a wall, upper and lower spray bars in the housing for directing high pressure water against the wall, sealing members on the housing around the opening for effecting sealing relationship with the wall, an outlet on the housing for conducting liquid away from the housing, and a high pressure liquid jet arrangement for creating a venturi effect to produce a suction for pressing sealing members against the wall. (2) A system for washing vertical walls including a vehicle mounted for movement along the top of the wall, a boom on the vehicle, a reel on the boom for moving a spray housing vertically on the wall, a source of high pressure water, a second reel on the boom for mounting a hose conducting high pressure water to the spray housing, and a motor on the vehicle for selectively moving the boom to cause the spray housing to move toward and away from the wall.

  • Patent number: 4095305
Abstract: (1) A construction for reciprocating and rotating a lance comprising a frame, attachment structure for securing said frame relative to a tube to be cleaned, lance reciprocating and rotating mechanism on said frame substantially adjacent said tube, a carriage for attachment to the end of the lance remote from said tube, a swivel connection on the carriage for permitting rotation of the lance while high pressure water is being fed thereto, a carriage support for supporting said carriage for movement toward and away from said tube, and a mounting arrangement for mounting said carriage support.

  • Patent number: 4082104
Abstract: A pressure relief valve including a housing, first and second bores in axial alignment in the housing, first and second plungers in the first and second bores, respectively, a third bore in the first plunger, a seal between the first and second plungers with the end of the second plunger being located in communication with the third bore, a first conduit for placing the housing in communication with a source of fluid pressure to expose the first plunger thereto and also expose a portion of the second plunger thereto through the third bore, a shear pin for holding the second plunger in position whereby the fluid pressure on the first and second plungers is exerted on the shear pin, a plurality of radial bores in the housing proximate the seal between the first and second plungers, and a second conduit in communication with the radial bores for conducting high pressure fluid from the housing upon shearing of the shear pin and after movement of the second plunger away from the first plunger.

  • Patent number: 4073026
Abstract: A tube cleaning lance tip construction including a body portion, a first bore extending longitudinally of the body portion, a plurality of second bores extending between the first bore and the outer surface of the body portion for causing liquid to be ejected with a net lateral force component to bias the body portion against the inside of the tube in which the lance tip is located, and first and second rows of axially spaced blades on the opposite side of the body portion from the second bores, said blades having axial and radial cutting edges for removing incrustations from the tube as the lance tip rotates and advances axially through the tube.

  • Patent number: 4058870
Abstract: A tube cleaning lance tip construction for rotation within a tube comprising a body portion, a bore arrangement in the body portion for causing liquid to be ejected with a lateral component creating a reactive force for biasing the body portion toward the inside of the tube, a blade on the opposite side of the body portion from the bore arrangement for removing incrustations from the inside of the tube, the bore arrangement being positioned relative to the longitudinal axis of the body portion to cause the reactive force to be in the direction of rotation of the body portion, and stabilizing blades on the body portion for limiting layover of the blade and for tending to maintain the axis of the lance tip parallel to the axis of the tube and for aiding in the removal of incrustations.

  • Patent number: 4011625
Abstract: A tube cleaning lance tip construction including a body portion, a first bore extending longitudinally of said body portion for receiving high pressure liquid, a line of second bores in communication with said first bore and extending longitudinally of said body portion for conducting high pressure liquid to the outside of said body portion, said second bores terminating at planar surfaces extending transversely to the longitudinal axis of said body portion, serrated edges on the body portion, and a blade extending longitudinally of said body portion and being located generally diametrically opposite to said line of second bores so as to engage the inside of said tube with a force produced by the reaction from the liquid emanating from said second bores.
