Patent number: 5527044Abstract: A toy simulates an arcade game. A box has a transparent side panel and contains game device that may be manipulated from a control panel at a front of a box. Here the game device is a toy boat or submarine that slides horizontally and deploys a claw to pick up objects on the bottom panel. The boat and claw have separate reversible motors which turn in one direction or the other depending upon the polarity of the applied voltage. To play the game, a user looks at the game pieces while he manipulates the controls at the front of the box in order to pick up an object and drop it through a chute.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 1994Date of Patent: June 18, 1996Assignee: C. Patent number: 5443261Abstract: A toy arcade game has a plurality of spaced parallel vertical tracks. A moving object (here a monkey) is mounted on each track to drop under gravity to the bottom of the track. An endless belt drives the object up the track. If a push button is pressed quickly enough, the object drops back to the bottom. It is not pushed quickly enough the object reaches the top of its climb. The object of the game is to push the buttons quickly enough to keep any of the objects from reaching to top of the track.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1994Date of Patent: August 22, 1995Assignee: C. Patent number: 5390653Abstract: A two handed toss and catch toy has a pistol-like body with a drive spring biased trigger rod to store energy in a drive spring in response to a manual motion. The stored energy flings a ball upwardly when the trigger rod is released. An upwardly directed basket is provided for catching balls as they fall back to earth. A tunnel magazine extends from the basket to a position where the balls are struck by the trigger arm in order to recycle caught balls for the next flinging.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 1992Date of Patent: February 21, 1995Assignee: C. Patent number: 5286228Abstract: A child's toy is a mechanical hand having at least articulated fingers, and perhaps an articulated thumb, associated with a palm section. A control compartment attached to and extending from the palm section includes fingertip controls which selectively move the articulated fingers. A clip-on special effects box, also operated by fingertip control, may be added to the mechanical hand in order to provide a weapon, sound effect, laser beam, or the like. In the embodiment described herein, the weapon is a set of four claws which may extend from or retract into the box.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 1992Date of Patent: February 15, 1994Assignee: C. J. Patent number: 5284274Abstract: An action to system including a capsule for containing water having an office and a plunger and a spring loaded mechanism for driving the water from the orifice. The action toy may be configured as a shotgun accepting a plurality of prefilled shell capsules into its breechblock for firing through its barrel. It may also be configured as a missile launcher in which the capsules are mounted to the front of the launcher and the water is ejected directly from the capsule against the target. In yet another embodiment, the invention is configured as a crossbow with the bow loading the spring-loaded mechanism and a water stream obtained on release of the bow.Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 1992Date of Patent: February 8, 1994Assignee: C. Patent number: 5213504Abstract: A liquid non-poisonous, non-metallic, edible, water soluble coloring fluid fills a felt-tipped marker. A plastic box houses the marker or a plurality of the markers. A surface on the box receives the marks from the felt-tipped marker. In one embodiment, the box is in the form of a toy vehicle. In other embodiments, there may be a plurality of stencils which can be arranged in a scene or a scroll which may be rolled to display a selected scene. Then a tracing of the scene may be made on an overlaying sheet of transparent plastic. An eraser in the form of a sponge with a plastic handle may be made wet to wash away the marks.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 1991Date of Patent: May 25, 1993Assignee: C. J. Patent number: 5190298Abstract: Memory-oriented or pattern matching games use game pieces having indicia which become excited responsive to a brief exposure to strong light or another activating event for emitting colored light during a short period of time. The games use the excitable indicating medium to present certain information to the players for a short time period. Thereafter, the players are required to use their memory of the temporarily-presented information in order to accomplish some task. In some embodiments, the games present a random arrangement of color-coding which soon becomes invisible after the excitement subsides. Then, the players must use their memory of the game piece locations to select only those pieces which are assigned to them. In another embodiment of the invention, a maze is printed in excitable ink which is visible only during the short time period of excitement. The players must try to complete the maze before the pattern, or their memory of it, dissipates.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 1991Date of Patent: March 2, 1993Assignee: C. J. Patent number: 5163846Abstract: A toy has a frame with a display area for receiving a water reactive paper. The paper has a brightly colored substrate covered by a surface layer of silica and resin which becomes transparent when wet and opaque when dry so that the bright color does or does not show through depending upon whether the surface is wet or dry. Thus, the paper appears to have disappearing ink.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 1990Date of Patent: November 17, 1992Assignee: C. J. Associated, Ltd.Inventor: James S. W. Lee

Patent number: 5028047Abstract: A game apparatus has a housing and a removable lid for covering the housing. A brief flash of high-intensity illumination is provided when the lid is removed. A number of playing pieces randomly positioned within the housing receive the illumination of the flash. The playing pieces briefly radiate color-coded visible light after receiving the flash, forming a random pattern of colored light. At least two players may view the game pieces to form impressions of the locations of the playing pieces while they are radiating the light. Each player must rely upon his memory as to where his color of playing pieces are located. The players use an implement to remove the game pieces in turn according to his memory of where colors assigned to him are located.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 1990Date of Patent: July 2, 1991Assignee: C. Patent number: 5006089Abstract: A stuffed animal has a closed fluid containing liner filled with a viscous silicon or silicon/water material. The weight of the silicon/water material gives the animal a life-like weight. The liner is covered by a fur-like plush. The viscous material may be a material used to make a prosthesis of a human organ. If desired a material such as a plastic simulation of a skeleton may be added to give a feel of bone. The "skeleton" may have a plastic memory for causing the animal to retract its leg, paw, or the like after it has been stretched. Small patches of hook and loop fasteners may be used to secure the animal in a desired posture.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1989Date of Patent: April 9, 1991Assignee: C. J.
