  • Patent number: 5689240
Abstract: A system that transmits and receives signals comprising a master unit and a remote unit, wherein a separation distance between the master unit and remote unit is continuously monitored and an alarm is activated on the master unit when no signal is received from the remote unit for at least a time longer than a preset interval. If the separation distance between the master and remote unit is exceeded for a time longer than a preset time interval, the remote unit activates an alarm attached to the remote unit. The master unit may also be used to activate manually the remote unit's alarm. A pin or key arrangement is provided that ensures that the remote unit is not deactivated without interfacing with the master unit.

  • Patent number: 5652567
Abstract: Security systems which include an adjustable structure and a motion detector which detects changes in electromagnetic energy from within a zone of protection are described. The structure has a base for mounting the motion detector and wall members which extend away from the base and to form walls around the detector. The wall members are adjusted to positions between the plane of the base and planes perpendicular to the base to alter the shape of the zone of protection and conform it to the area or object of interest. The motion detector is electrically connected to a control unit and alarm module which includes a shock sensor and a current sensor. The motion detector and the control unit and alarm module are connected to a power supply and operated by remote control.

  • Patent number: 5572186
Abstract: A security system for protecting a vehicle and its contents including a protective cover having conductors threaded through a hollow seam and electrically connected to a two member electrical connector. Each conductor is connected to a sensing circuit configured to detect an open circuit condition in the conductor-connector loop. In use, the loop is pulled taut around the protected vehicle and secured by a tensioning system while the electrical connector is held together by a temporary restraint system. The loop tension is adjusted and the temporary restraint is released subjecting the connector to the adjusted tension in the conductor. In this state, the security system is ready to detect movement of the protective cover or an open circuit condition.
