    Abstract: An introducer and method for delivering a prosthetic fabric into a patient. The introducer includes a delivery tube having a distal end adapted to be inserted into the patient and a lumen that receives the prosthetic fabric. A loader may be provided to reconfigure the prosthetic fabric from a first configuration to a collapsed configuration and/or to insert the collapsed fabric into the lumen of the delivery tube. A plunger may be provided to push the prosthetic fabric through the delivery tube and into the patient. The loader and plunger may be combined in a dual-purpose component that is reversible to either load the fabric into the delivery tube or push the fabric through the delivery tube.

    Abstract: A catheter includes an elongate member (12) having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end has at least one drainage opening (20). At least one of; the at least one drainage opening (20) is a single elongate opening, or is two circumferentially spaced elongate openings (FIG. 5), or is at least three staggered openings (FIG. 3), or is an array of staggered openings (FIG. 3). Alternatively or additionally, a sleeve member (10) is arranged on the elongate member (12) and is movable at least between a first position (FIG. 1) covering the at least one drainage opening (20) and a second position (FIG. 2) which allows fluid to pass into the catheter. A method of using the catheter includes inserting a catheter having a retractable sleeve (10) into a user's body and retracting the retractable sleeve (10) to expose drainage openings (20) and drain fluid from the body.

    Abstract: A dilator system for insertion of a catheter or other elongate device into a body of a patient includes a catheter having a lumen that initially defines a first inner diameter. The catheter includes a swellable material that swells after insertion into the body. A dilator includes an elongate body that is initially disposed in the catheter lumen and a tapered head extending from a distal end of the catheter lumen. The dilator head defines an outer diameter that is larger than the first inner diameter of the catheter lumen. After insertion of the dilator head and a distal portion of the catheter into the body, the catheter swells such that the lumen defines a second inner diameter that is larger than the outer diameter of the dilator head. This enables the dilator to be proximally removed from the body via the catheter lumen defining the second diameter.
