Abstract: A push pad exit device comprising a horizontal push bar actuator mechanically linked to a vertical door handle assembly, for use on the interior side of entrance doors where a means of emergency egress is desired, is presented. The operating mechanisms of the push bar actuator and vertical door handle assembly are concealed presenting a smooth uncluttered appearance. In one mode of operation, the push pad actuator may be moved inwards towards the door face causing the door to unlatch. The push pad exit device may also be equipped with a “dogging feature” which locks the push bar actuator in the unlatched position. In this mode of operation the door is unlatched and the push pad actuator may be used as a fixed door handle. The push pad exit device may also be equipped with a keyed lock on an external face of the door.
Abstract: An improved roller latch bolt that asymmetrically locates the roller within a roller support is presented. The improved design allows for a roller to make contact with a ramp surface of a corresponding strike plate on a sweep side of the plate and allows for the roller support to make contact with the strike plate on a latch side of the plate. The improved roller latch bolt maintains the smooth operation of roller latch bolts while also providing the increased door security and other benefits of non-roller latch bolts.
Abstract: A rail system for holding a panel, such as a plate glass pane, in a door and/or wall partition. The rail system includes a housing and a clamp member having a wedging geometry so that when the clamp member is actuated with respect to the housing in a first direction, at least a portion of the clamp member will move in a clamping direction, which is different than the first direction to clamp the panel.
Abstract: A display package for replacement hardware parts, or other merchandise and products, is provided which comprises a cardboard backing card and a transparent plastic member mounted on the card to form an enclosure for the merchandise; the transparent plastic member being shaped to cause the enclosure to have a first section of substantial depth for containing and displaying the merchandise, and a second section of minimal depth for containing and displaying an insert which has indicia describing the merchandise imprinted thereon. A feature of the package is that it can be used for a wide variety of products since all descriptive matter concerning the products is imprinted on the insert, rather than on the package itself, and different inserts can be placed in the package for different products.
