  • Publication number: 20060061175
Abstract: The forwardly movable automotive vehicle seat has a seat back and a seat frame with a seat part. The automotive vehicle seat can be moved between a normally adopted utilization position and a forwardly moved position. A locking device is associated with the seat frame; the seat back has a seat back hinge and a stop device. The stop device retains the seat back in the forwardly folded position as long as the seat frame is located in a front portion of a displacement path. The stop device allows the seat back to be released so that it may be folded upward into the normal utilization position when the seat frame is located in a rear portion of the displacement path. The stop device has a first limit stop and a second limit stop, one of said limit stops being disposed on the seat frame and the other one on the seat back.

  • Patent number: 6902234
Abstract: The motor vehicle seat of a motor vehicle comprises an underframe and a seat carrier that is height-adjustably connected to the underframe through rear oscillating cranks. A catch device is directly assigned to one of the two rear oscillating cranks. A non-rotatable tie bar joins the two rear oscillating cranks so that they are parallel when the vehicle seat is subjected to normal load. A retaining device has a sector gear firmly connected to the other one of the two rear oscillating cranks. An engaging piece which is movably disposed on the seat carrier or on the underframe, is provided with teeth devised for engagement with the sector gear and is disengaged from the sector gear as long as the vehicle seat is subjected to normal load. When the associated motor vehicle is subjected to a crash load an actuator is activated and causes the engaging piece to move into positive mesh with the sector gear.

  • Publication number: 20050116457
Abstract: The headrest of an automotive vehicle seat has at least one bar (20) and one supporting member (26). Normally, the supporting member (26) is in a utilization position. When the automotive vehicle is involved in an accident, the supporting member (26) leaves the utilization position and adopts an accident position in which it is located in front of the utilization position. The at least one bar (20) comprises an oblique portion (30) that is located above an upper edge (32) of a backrest of the automotive vehicle seat. Said oblique portion has one component in the x direction and one component in the z direction. The supporting member (26) comprises a guide region (34) that conforms to the oblique portion (30) of bar (20) and that is movable relative to the oblique portion (30). An elastic means (spring 48) biases the supporting member (26) in the accident position. A releasable locking device (52) is associated with the elastic means, which it normally blocks.

  • Publication number: 20050062328
Abstract: A motor vehicle seat with a seat back hinge including a lower hinge arm associated with a seat carrier and an upper hinge arm associated with a seat back. A locking mechanism prevents the seat back tilting forward in a locked position and allows tilting of the seat back in a released position. The locking mechanism includes a handle, and a blocking lever hinged to the seat back that includes a blocking side. The upper hinge arm cooperates with the blocking side and a retaining catch stop. A retaining lever on the seat back forms a retaining lug which abuts the retaining catch stop in the tilted position of the seat back and retains the seat back in position. The blocking lever pivots upon actuation of the handle to abut the retaining lever, which is pivoted as a result, releasing the retaining lug from engagement with the retaining catch stop.
