Abstract: The present invention relates to an operating device for an in-car computing system (10) for controlling a selection mark (cursor), comprising an operating body (32) which is hold pivotally around an axis (36) (pivot axis) as to implement first and second switching functions, and a handle ridge (38) passing through said pivot axis (36), characterized in that the rotation of the operating body (32) is limited to an angle of ±90° relative to its normal position; a resetting means is provided for resetting said operating body (32) in its normal position; said operating body (32) is movable towards the pivot axis (36) as to implement a third switching function, and said operating body (32) is provided tiltably around an axis (45) being parallel to said handle ridge (38) as to implement fourth and fifth switching functions.
Abstract: An in-car computing device comprising a computer unit (12), a display screen (20) for displaying information (54-58, 82), a cursor (62) and option menus with individual option menu items, and a control element (22, 23, 24) for moving the cursor on the display screen two-dimensionally and for selecting option menu items. The in-car computing device further comprises a first unit (34) for detecting a display region of predetermined information (54-58, 82) on the display, a second unit (36) for determining a pull-in region (60) of a predetermined size for a display region, and a third unit (30) for applying an operating force to the control element (22) when the cursor (62) is in the pull-in region (60) such that the cursor is moved into the corresponding display region.
Abstract: A vehicle computing system with a monitor (24) that displays selection menus (40), information with hypertext-linked words (50) (Hyperlinks) and a selection market (47) (Cursor), a rotary-/push button (26,27), and a cursor control device (18) which moves the cursor (47) per the control signals of the rotary-/push buttons (26,27). The cursor control device (18) includes a hyperlink detection unit (20), which in a first operating mode (Link-Mode) recognizes the displayed hyperlinks (50) on the monitor and moves the cursor (47) via operation of the rotary-/push buttons (26,27) from one hyperlink (50) to the next. The hyperlink detection unit (20) generates an additional hyperlink (52) that is independent of the displayed information, the selection of which enables a switch to a second operating mode. A method of controlling a selection marker in the above-described vehicle computing system is also disclosed.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an address storage device for a vehicle, particularly a motor vehicle, with several apparatuses using at least parts of address data, the address storage device comprising a storage unit for storing address data and a storage unit interface. Each apparatus is assigned to an application interface, wherein each application interface communicates with the storage unit interface and—if required—reads out at least parts of address data stored in the storage unit and uses them during operation of the apparatus, so that the address data stored centrally in the storage unit are available to the apparatuses commonly.
