    Abstract: A contact lens has a spherical surface (the rear surface, for example) and an aspherical surface (in this case, the front surface). The caustic curve of the wave surface which emerges from the contact lens comprises two cusps, one of which is paraxial and the other of which is marginal. The lens has applications in the correction of presbyopia.
