Patents Assigned to Cable Components Group
  • Publication number: 20100151243
Abstract: The disclosure provides a composition as well as a set of compositions and method for producing cellular or foamed or blown fluoropolymers such as perfluoropolymers and other thermoplastics articles allowing for the creation of a lower cost communications cable, conductor separator, conductor support-separator, jacketing, tape, wire insulation and in some cases a conduit tube as individual components or combined configurations that exhibit improved electrical, flammability and optical properties. Specifically, the foamable or blown fluoropolymer such as a perfluoropolymer cellular insulation composition comprises; talc and the selected fluoropolymer such as perfluoropolymers. Compounded pellets or products resulting in cellular or foamable products using these pellets has also been realized by providing the melt combination in the pellets of only talc and a perfluoropolymer.

  • Patent number: 7473850
Abstract: The present invention includes a high performance communication cable support-separator that includes one or more core support-separators having various shaped profiles which define and maintain a spacing between transmission media or transmission media pairs. The cable channels have longitudinal gaps that allow for insertion and removal of conductive transmission media to aid in terminating and connecting the transmission media. The cable support-separator channel intermediary may be additionally separated from each other.

  • Patent number: 7473849
Abstract: The present invention describes a conduit tube like structure for high performance, multi-media communications cables with or without support separators that are of varying internal and external dimensions and wall thickness that may vary consistently or randomly and may be spirally or helically wound within or around a high performance, multi-media communications cable to vary the spacing between a high performance, multi-media communications cable and an adjacent communications cable. The conduit tube structures may be hollow, contain communications media, solid comprised of various shapes and wrapped with various windings and/or tensions. The final cable assembly may then be jacketed or taped as desired.

  • Patent number: 7465879
Abstract: The present invention includes a high performance communications cable or cable support-separator and/or jacket and includes one or more core support-separators having various shaped profiles. The core may be formed of conductive or insulative material and may be comprised of polymer blends that include olefin and/or fluoropolymer and/or chlorofluoropolymer based resins with or without inorganic additives such as nano-clay composites, C60 based compounds, etc. The core support-separator has both a central region as well as a plurality of shaped sections that extend outward from the central region that are either solid or partially solid, foamed or foamed with a solid skin surface. The invention includes incorporation of hollow ducts that can be used to provide for insertion of optical or metal transmission media either before, during, or after installation of the cable.
