Patents Assigned to Cadbury-Schweppes Limited
  • Patent number: 7669546
Abstract: A coating such as liquid milk chocolate is applied to articles such as confectionery bars. The bars are conveyed by conveyor under a curtain of liquid chocolate issuing through an outlet slot in a trough. A layer of air is caused to flow through the outlet slot in the trough so as to modify the flow characteristics of the curtain. The layer of air permits a curtain of even thickness to be achieved.

  • Patent number: 4563358
Abstract: An edible composition comprises an integrally extruded net formed of an edible material e.g. a cereal-based, sugar-based or fat-based material. The composition has a novel appearance and unexpectedly good eating qualities. The net may be tubular planar or curved and may be filled and/or coated with a compatible edible material. In the case of a tubular filled net, the net is preferably produced by extending the edible net-forming material through a pair of relatively rotating or oscillating dies having mutually engaging grooved surfaces. When the grooves in one die mate with the grooves in the other die, integral joints between individual strands in the net are formed. When the grooves in one die are separated from the grooves in the other die, the individual strands are formed. A center-filling, which may support the extruded net, is extruded through the center of the net-forming die arrangement to provide a center filling to the tube.

  • Patent number: 4523697
Abstract: A container for dispensing a concentrate at a predetermined flow rate includes a first container part for containing a volume of the concentrate terminating in a first valve part in communication with the volume, a second container part having a second mating valve part therein and having an outlet opening, the second container part movable with respect to the first container part to selectively move the first and second valve parts together and apart by a preselected amount to control the flow of the concentrate from said first part, through the valve parts and out the outlet, tabs on the outside of the first and second parts for effecting movement of the first and second parts with respect to each other, and a tube to permit application of a controlled pressure to the volume in the container.

  • Patent number: 4328909
Abstract: A dispensing container comprising a wall, a base, and a top is used in an inverted condition and is closed, but for an outlet in the top from which liquid can be dispensed and an inlet to allow only sufficient air to bleed into the container to make up for liquid dispensed from the container so that the liquid will be dispensed from the container under constant head. In one arrangement, the inlet comprises a tube extending from the bottom to close to the top of the container with a one-way valve arrangement close to the bottom of the container to permit venting of the head space through the one-way valve arrangement in the event of a pressure build-up in the head space. In an alternative arrangement, the inlet comprises a tube extending from the top of the container to close to the bottom of the container and a valve closing flow of air through the tube, the tube permitting a flow of air to make up for material dispensed.
