Abstract: A detachable chassis base for a tactical rifle is presented. The lower chassis receiver assembly can have a detachable chassis base that substantially selectively attaches to the chassis receiver interface. The detachable chassis base can be completely removable, or it can be hingedly attached to provide access without completely removing the chassis base, or a combination thereof. Multiple combinations of parts included in the detachable chassis base are possible. Several variations and combinations are illustrated herein, although others are contemplated.
Abstract: A recoil force mitigating device for cooperating with a firearm to mitigate recoil forces imparting undesirable forces to mounted firearm accessories. The recoil force mitigating device includes a recoil rail assembly having a first rail for mounting to the firearm and a slideable second rail for mounting accessories. A recoil force mitigating means is positioned between the first and second rails to mitigate transfer of forces, such as recoil forces, from the first rail to the second rail.
Abstract: A modular rail assembly for supporting accessories upon a modular weapons platform. The modular rail assembly includes a fore rail preferably positioned above the foretube, and an aft rail preferably positioned above the receiver, which cooperate with one another to enable a modular system whereby one rail may be removed or replaced without affecting the other rail and any accessories mounted thereon. One rail defines a mating member and the other rail defines a mating channel for receipt of the mating member. The rail assembly configuration provides increased flexibility and interchangeability to the modular weapons platform.
