  • Patent number: 4706888
Abstract: A multi-purpose nozzle assembly for a liquid dispenser includes a rotatable nozzle cap having an internal sleeve in engagement with the end of a fixed plug located within an outlet member of the dispenser containing a discharge conduit. An end wall of the cap has a smooth inner surface confronting the end wall of the plug, and the plug and sleeve have two discrete passageways formed between the discharge conduit and the discharge orifice located in the cap end wall. The passageways are capable of being opened and closed in selected rotative positions of the cap in alternating off, stream and spray positions.

  • Patent number: 4692103
Abstract: A pump sprayer has a body with aligned relatively large and small diameter cylinder portions and relatively large and small diameter pistons respectively reciprocable therein and delimiting with the cylinder a variable volume pump chamber during pumping, the small diameter piston shifting relative to the large diameter piston for opening the discharge. Cooperating limit stops acting between the piston members limit the relative movement thereof during a valve open position so as to thereby limit the duration during which the discharge passage is open irrespective of different external reciprocating pressures applied during pumping, such that the output of the sprayer is controlled during pumping.

  • Patent number: 4687113
Abstract: The closure cap of a tamper evident closure is removably mounted on a container over a cap liner sealed to the container opening, the cap having a stud extending through the liner and supporting a brightly colored disc beneath the liner. The disc is visible through the ruptured liner incident to cap removal.

  • Patent number: 4615467
Abstract: A liquid foam dispenser having a porous foamer element includes a liquid passage and a distributor for distributing the liquid across the outer surface of the foamer element during actuation, an air passage for transmitting pressurized air during actuation through the foamer element pores for generating a foam on or from the outer surface of the foamer element, and a separate vent passage permitting a rapid recovery of the container during depressurization.

  • Patent number: 4561544
Abstract: A child resistant container for pills and the like has a tray which slidably engages a lid and is locked in a fully closed position as a spring arm on the tray urges a locking detent on the arm into engagement with a locking aperture located in an adjacent side wall of the lid. Manual depression of the detent releases the tray for opening as an exposed front wall thereof is pulled.

  • Patent number: 4506809
Abstract: A dispensing fitment for squeeze bottles includes a combined discharge and vent passage for establishing communication between the atmosphere and the interior of the bottle, the fitment defining a pair of oppositely facing, annular valve seats of different diameters, and further including an annular resilient diaphragm valve extending across the combined discharge and vent passage while being unattached to the fitment and normally being axially compressed against both valve seats for closing the passage. The valve is deflected to a discharge open position in which it is unseated from one of the valve seats when the pressure within the bottle exceeds atmospheric and the valve is deflected to a vent open position in which it is unseated from the other of the valve seats when the pressure within the bottle is reduced below atmospheric.

  • Patent number: 4454964
Abstract: An arrangement for adjusting the inward pressure stroke of a reciprocable pump plunger operating in a pump cylinder mounted on a closure cap of a hand-operated pump, includes confronting limit stops on the plunger head and on the closure cap, with one of the stops having stop portions at differing axial distances relative to the plunger, and the other stop having a portion at a fixed axial distance relative to the plunger. The confronting stop portions are individually and selectively engageable with one another for adjusting the pressure stroke of the plunger to thereby vary the output.

  • Patent number: 4433799
Abstract: A liquid-dispensing pump arrangement permits positive setting into various full-stroke, stroke limited, and off positions by rotation of the dispensing head thereof. The arrangement includes a reciprocating pump having a dip tube, a pump body, and a depressible stem and which is supported in a screw cap or other closure. A pedestal on the screw cap has longitudinal detents on a circumferential surface thereof, and also has a helical ramp thereon extending at least part way around the stem. A finger-depressible push-button dispensing head atop the stem has a radial outlet nozzle and a depending skirt which overlaps the circumferential surface of the pedestal. Fins or vanes on the skirt are spaced apart and engage the detents on the pedestal. The vanes are resiliently flexible and normally engage the cutout detents to establish each rotational position, but can be deflected by manually turning the dispenser head so that the latter can be easily rotated to another desired position.
