  • Patent number: 6332553
Abstract: An annular groove is formed in a cap body of a cap. An elongated coupling member has a ring part formed integrally therewith, and is coupled to the cap as the ring part is engaged in the annular groove. The cap and the coupling member are each formed of electroconductive resin, and the surface resistance from the cap to the vehicle is set to be greater than or equal to 1×1012 &OHgr; and less than 5.30×1012 &OHgr;. Hence, when the human body is brought into contact with the cap, static electricity in the human body is discharged to the vehicle side, and no shock is imparted to the human body. In addition, the amount of residual charge also declines without causing secondary spark discharge.

  • Patent number: 6173487
Abstract: A fan speed controller of an automotive vehicle air conditioning device is usually placed in an air flow duct to be effectively cooled. Thus, compact construction of the speed controller is needed to obtain a larger air flow in the air flow duct. For this purpose, various compact resistor units for the speed controller have been proposed. However, some of them are poor in durability against shocks. In view of this, a compact resistor unit for a speed controller includes a resistor block that has a flat resistor, a flat insulating plate and a flat radiation plate which are respectively positioned against one another. The compact resistor unit further includes a holder block of molded plastic on which the resistor block is mounted. The compact resistor unit also includes a plurality of metal terminals partially embedded in the holder block, where the terminals are connected to particular portions of the flat resistor.

  • Patent number: 6097311
Abstract: A warning device for a distance between cars, for measuring a distance between a car and an object in front of the car, judging the possibility of danger on the basis of distance data thus obtained, and generating an alarm in the case where it is judged to be dangerous. The warning device provides a first alarm (a rear-end collision alarm) generated in a condition of alert which necessitates deceleration or braking, and a second alarm (an alarm for a distance between cars) generated in a condition of alert which does not necessitate deceleration nor braking, the first and second alarms, respectively, being judged by separate formulae for determining. Accordingly, it is possible to positively generate an alarm when deceleration or braking is necessitated. Further, the warning device discriminates a kind of an object being measured (a moving body, obstruction, guardrail or the like) to judge danger according to the kind of the discriminated object.
