    Abstract: A gas heater with specialized controls allows an operator to deploy a single device to heat and to dry when extracting moisture from a structure. The heater has a fan in a blow thru arrangement ahead of a burner. The burner uses either natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas. The heater has air flow, fan motor, temperature, and ignition controls and sensors. The heater delivers high temperature air to the structure that hastens evaporation as the heated air absorbs great concentrations of water vapor. Then the moisture laden heated air exits the building as the heater draws in fresh air, ducts it into a structure, and pressurizes the structure. This moisture laden air then leaks from the building through select windows using the energy imparted from the fan and then exhausts the moisture to the atmosphere, drying the structure.

    Abstract: An infra-red heater assembly takes on the conditions that afflict buildings: bed bugs, termites, other insects, molds, bacteria, and the like, and their resulting odors, and other contaminants. The assembly includes a portable electric infra-red emitting panel system with vertically stacked panels that distribute heat energy to the entire height of a wall. Removable panel covers over the infra-red heating elements protect them from damage during transport and when opened, act as deflectors, to direct, the radiant energy, widthwise, to restrict the line of site energy transferred to a wall. The heating panels are regulated by room air and wall temperature sensors to prevent structural damage and fire during usage of the invention. The infra-red heater may be pivotally mounted within its supporting structure so as to direct heat in various angular directions within the building being treated.

An exemplary embodiment of a direct fired heater generally includes one or more in-shot burners and one or more combustion tubes configured to receive combustion air emanating from the one or more in-shot burners. The direct fired heater includes a passageway having an inlet configured to receive or intake a circulating air flow. The passageway may include a venturi portion downstream of the inlet in fluid communication with the exit ends of the combustion tubes. The flow of circulating air through the venturi portion may induce flow of combustion air through the one or more combustion tubes.

    Abstract: A direct gas-fired industrial air heater low fire start control, includes circuitry for simulating a resistant circuit which bypasses the discharge temperature sensors, the remote temperature selector, and a space temperature controls, that has the effect of driving the modulating valve to a fixed open setting which in turn changes the valve voltage in order to obtain desired gas flow. In a further embodiment, an isolated DC voltage source which normally bypasses the voltage input to the system of the modulating valve can be inserted into the circuitry to effectively drive the modulating valve to a fixed open setting to obtain the desired gas flow rate. Various circuitry, and bypass gas flow arrangements, are further shown to increase the efficiency of ignition of the burner assembly, when started.

    Abstract: In a direct gas-fire heater assembly having a generally box-like housing with a grate-like floor with a conventional gas regulator, a gas port mounted within a box-like shroud, the shroud having one side with a predetermined number, shape and size of primary combustion air inflow orifices to direct primary combustion air toward the gas port. A burner is mounted on the shroud over the gas port. The area above the burner and adjacent to it contains an ignition device and flame sense rod as well as a pair of opposed and particularly oriented flame shields on each side of the flame orifice. One each of a pair of opposed baffle-type deflectors is arranged on each side and just above the flame shield so as to form a combustion chamber as well as a path for secondary air flow to a downstream chamber. An additional flame deflector is formed on one baffle-type deflector to deflect the flame toward the blower area.

A diverter is arranged for directing incoming air, and deflectors are provided at the upper and lower front of the shrouds to direct the passage of air into the path of the combustion gases. Slots are provided within the brackets holding the front of the shrouds to reduced heat generation, and the arrangement of various slots provided within the tiered baffles provided fo reducing hot spots.

    Abstract: In a ventilating hood generally for use in conjunction with a heating apparatus, such as a cooker, a housing incorporates both a diverter and a rear support, the two of which join to segregate the incoming air through a supply conduit from the outgoing air traversing through a support arranged filter and into an exhaust outlet. The front wall of the housing, which is spaced from the lower end of the diverter, incorporates a slightly upwardly inclined deflector, which directs substantially all of the air incoming to the hood upwardly and rearwardly directly towards for movement through the filter, and out of the exhaust outlet, and since the air is generally unencumbered by any structure in the path of its flow, it moves in a rather parallel course with the arranged diverter, and rapidly exits carrying the entrained fumes therewith significantly reducing the BTU requirements for operation of this hood.
