Patents Assigned to Campbell Wrapper Corporation
  • Patent number: 10974856
Abstract: An apparatus for flushing a plurality of randomly spaced packages with an inert gas includes a linear conveyor for conveying the packages, a linear servo motor, comprising a closed loop, positioned generally above the linear conveyor. The arrangement includes a plurality of gas-flushing nozzles which are mounted on the linear servo motor for movement in concert with the packages on the conveyor. Each nozzle can be selectively angularly positioned and articulated with respect to the linear servo motor to facilitate insertion into, and withdrawal from, each package to effect flushing of the contents of each package with an inert gas.

  • Patent number: 8735746
Abstract: A method for operating a weighing apparatus and system contemplates that the system is operated in a ratio of two modes of operation, including a first, non-sampling mode, and a second, sampling mode. Operating in the first mode, wherein verification of a dose weight is not effected, promotes high cycle rates. Operation in the second, sampling mode requires operation at a slower cycle rate, but permits optimization of the accuracy of the overall weighing process. Operation in the two modes of operation, and adjustment of the ratio of the modes of operation, promotes optimization of weighing accuracy and cycle speeds.

  • Patent number: 7316102
Abstract: An apparatus for extracting air from within flexible packages having granular or otherwise flowable contents includes a package conveyor and a downwardly-open, vacuum extraction hood through which the packages are conveyed so that an upper portion of each package is moved through the extraction hood. The interior of the hood is joined in fluid communication with a vacuum source, so that air is extracted from within each package as it is conveyed through the hood. The present apparatus further includes a closing mechanism positioned immediately downstream of and in operative association with the extraction hood, whereby the upper portion of each package is maintained in a closed configuration prior to sealing, so that the interior of each package is not exposed to ambient conditions after it is conveyed out of the extraction hood, and prior to sealing of the upper portion.

  • Patent number: 7156222
Abstract: A powered magazine apparatus for retaining and transporting flexible bags comprises a base conveyor, and a pair of first and second digitated conveyor belts positioned on respective opposite sides of the base conveyor. Each of the digitated conveyor belts comprises a large multiplicity of outwardly projecting fingers. Each of the bags to be retained and transported is supported at its lower extent by the base conveyor, while opposite marginal edges of each bag are supported substantially through their vertical extents by the projecting fingers of each of the first and second digitated belts.

  • Patent number: 7025097
Abstract: A method of operating a filling apparatus for filling bags includes providing a fill hopper having a discharge opening, and positioning each bag to be filled beneath the discharge opening. To promote efficient operation, each bag is positioned in a stand-by position after one of a pair of bag openers, which open each bag, has been moved a sufficient distance from the previous bag to provide clearance in the stand-by position. The cycle time for positioning, opening, and filling each bag is desirably decreased for promoting efficient operation of the filling apparatus.
