Patent number: 9302263Abstract: This invention relates to microfluidics apparatus and methods for particle concentration in sensors for sensing biological entities such as cells, spores and the like. We describe a microfluidic sensor for sensing biological particles including a particle concentration device for performing concentration of particles in three dimensions. The sensor device comprises a substrate bearing a microfluidic channel or chamber for carrying a conductive fluid bearing the particles. The channel has: first and second electrodes spaced apart on the channel or chamber for defining an electric field therebetween, and a sensing surface on an inner surface of the channel or chamber.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2010Date of Patent: April 5, 2016Assignee: Camtech Management PTD LTDInventor: Meng-Han Kuok

Patent number: 6506042Abstract: A rounder bar assembly (10) with floating foot (56) for use with an endless belt conveyor (12) incorporates an elongated body (20) configured for shaping dough pieces (14) transported along the endless belt of a conveyor. A backing plate (22) and a spacer (24) are disposed between the body (20) and the backing plate, with the body (20), backing plate (22) and spacer (24) defining cavity (26) therebetween. An elongated flexible foot (56) is movably mounted within the cavity (26) so that a portion of the foot (56) extends from the cavity when the foot is in a compressed position. A visco-elastic material (63) is disposed within the cavity (26) between the spacer (24) and the foot (56) such that the visco-elastic material is responsive to movement of the foot, thereby allowing the foot to conform to the belt of the conveyor. The visco-elastic material has a property of expanding volumetrically in response to a force applied thereto that displaces some of the volume of the material.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 2000Date of Patent: January 14, 2003Assignee: Camtech, LLCInventor: James L. Patent number: 6216702Abstract: A method for internal registration of the flow of a fluid into, in or out of a living body wherein one or a series of sensors are placed at one or more points along the flow path of the fluid and the registration takes place through the utilisation of the sensor's or sensors' inherent, pressure and/or temperature—dependent physical and electrical properties, by measuring the temperature and the difference in temperature in the flowing fluid.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1997Date of Patent: April 17, 2001Assignee: Camtech ASInventor: Bjørn G. Patent number: 6129037Abstract: A bakery dough flour applicator 10 for applying flour 12 to a dough piece 22 as the dough piece 22 travels along a processing path 134 includes a hopper 32 for supplying flour 12 and a transfer assembly 54 for providing flour 12 from the hopper 32 to an aerator 34 which creates an airborne flow of flour 40. The airborne flow of flour 40 is delivered to the interior of an enclosure 130 disposed about the dough processing path 134 through a plurality of spray nozzles 44 which direct the airborne flow of flour 40 to a dough piece 22 travelling through the enclosure 130 along the processing path 134 so that flour 12 from the airborne flow 40 adheres to the exterior surface of the dough piece 22. Flour 12 that does not adhere to a dough piece 22 is collected and filtered and provided back to the hopper 32 for later use.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1998Date of Patent: October 10, 2000Assignee: Camtech, L.L.C.Inventors: James L. Watts, Sterrett P. Campbell

Patent number: 4563906Abstract: The load measurement apparatus includes a pressure arm 60 rigidly coupled to a structural member whose load is to be measured, and a miniature instrumented hydrostatic cell rigidly mounted in proximity to the pressure arm so that a membrane of the cell engages the pressure arm and displaces as the pressure arm displaces. In one embodiment, the cell includes a housing consisting of a first cylindrical portion 20 and a second cylindrical portion 22 integral with and centrally projecting from the first cylindrical portion. A cylindrical cavity 24 is formed within the housing portions and coaxial therewith. At one end, the cavity is closed by a thin membrane 26, and at its other end, the cavity communicates with a threaded bore that receives and is closed by female portion 34 and male portion 36 of a seal.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 1983Date of Patent: January 14, 1986Assignee: Camtech, Inc.Inventor: Richard A. Patent number: 4444061Abstract: The sensor includes at least one pressure chamber that is filled with an incompressible fluid, a membrane that forms at least one wall of the pressure chamber, a pressure transducer measuring the pressure within the pressure chamber, and a pressure arm whose first end is secured to a machine tool member at a location at which force and torque are to be measured and whose second end bears on the membrane. By appropriately choosing the number and disposition of pressure chambers, membranes, and pressure arms, output signals from the corresponding pressure transducers are related to selected components of transverse force torque, and axial force of the machine tool member.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1982Date of Patent: April 24, 1984Assignee: Camtech Inc.Inventor: Richard A.
