  • Patent number: 4353173
Abstract: A laminated insole for a skate boot is disclosed. The insole includes a base layer moulded in a relatively rigid plastic material and an inner layer of a relatively resilient material laminated to the base layer. The base layer has a raised central portion in its outer surface which provides a strengthening spine for the insole and which is surrounded by a relatively flat peripheral surface portion onto which the margin of a lasted upper can be secured in constructing a boot. The raised central portion has a thickness corresponding generally to the thickness of the margin of the upper so that the bottom surface of the upper/insole combination is generally flat.

  • Patent number: 4325148
Abstract: An improved uniform for ice hockey players is disclosed which provides improved protection for the player and a more streamlined appearance compared with traditional uniforms. The uniform includes an inner protective garment for the lower portion of a wearer's torso including the hips and the thighs, and an outer garment in the form of a long-legged pant to be worn over the inner protective garment and conventional shin pads. The inner garment comprises a shell provided with a plurality of pockets capable of receiving protective pads and including flap-like pouches at the sides of the shell for receiving hip pads. The pouches have lower portions which are free of attachment to the shell so as to permit relative movement of the underlying parts of the shell and allow a wearer reasonable freedom of bending movement at the hips. The pant includes ventilation panels for permitting air to pass through the garment.

  • Patent number: 3984875
Abstract: Protective head gear is provided of a type used in hockey and other activities to protect a participant against harmful and damaging impacts. The protective head gear has a helmet adapted to cover major portions of the participant's head other than his face, and the helmet includes a peripheral brow portion extending between symmetrically disposed temple portions at either side of the helmet. A mouth guard is included for attachment to the temple portions and is shaped to extend from these portions symmetrically across the participant's mouth. An upper peripheral portion of the mouth guard is aligned generally with the peripheral brow portion for underlying a curved eye shield so that on impact the eye shield will be supported by one or more of these portions.
