Publication number: 20060005827Abstract: A heater product may have a first cavity in which a first part of a heater composition is disposed, a second cavity in which a second part of a heater composition is disposed, and a barrier between the first cavity and the second cavity, such that when the barrier is removed, the first and second parts combine to provide an exothermic reaction. A pull strip may be used to remove the barrier, and at least one reinforcing strip may be used to guide the pull strip. The first part may include calcium oxide and the second part may include water, an reaction-initiation delayer and water-release limiter.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 2, 2005Publication date: January 12, 2006Applicant: Candle Corporation of AmericaInventors: Frank Consoli, David Blythe, Theodore Holme, Michael Mariani, Bradley Barbera

Patent number: 6613288Abstract: An apparatus for heating a volatile medium is provided. The apparatus of the invention includes a base and a rotatable lens positioned above the base. The rotatable lens rotates independently of the base in the direction of a light source. The lens is positioned such that a focal point of a lens is focused on the volatile medium. The heat generated by focusing the light in this manner vaporizes the volatile medium and releases the medium into the surrounding atmosphere in a continuous manner.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2001Date of Patent: September 2, 2003Assignee: Candle Corporation of AmericaInventor: Anil J. A wick formed from a piled fabric includes a burn portion and a fuel feed portion. The fuel feed portion extends through the aperture into the fuel in the container. A cover having a central aperture is positioned over the top of the container to define the burn area on the wick. A peelable lid is adhesively attached to the cover and the wick which when removed will raise the pile on the wick.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 1995Date of Patent: July 28, 1998Assignee: Candle Corporation of AmericaInventors: Natalie Robin Kiefer, Francis T. Patent number: 5773706Abstract: Organic liquids can be very effectively gelled by using in combination with an amine neutralized anionic polymer an auxiliary rheological additive. The auxiliary rheological additive is a substance which increases the linearity of the anionic polymer and its thixotropic properties. Suitable auxiliary rheological additives are amphoteric oxides and/or fatty acids and/or fatty acid salts. The organic liquids that can be effectively gelled are organic solvents which include fuels such as hydrocarbons and alcohols.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1997Date of Patent: June 30, 1998Assignee: Candle Corporation of AmericaInventors: John N.
