Abstract: A double splined nut having internal left and right hand helical splines and a method for making the same is disclosed. Circumferentially spaced helical grooves are machined into the exterior of a cylindrical member which is then fitted into the cylindrical interior of a tubular body and bonded or otherwise rigidily affixed thereto. The grooved member is then axially bored to expose the previously formed external grooves, leaving the material between the grooves to form internal helical splines.
