Abstract: A cart apparatus for moving objects includes a frame that defines a cavity and steps operably coupled to the frame. The steps are movable into and between an inoperable position in which the steps are nested in the cavity and an operable position in which the steps are at least partially outside the cavity. One of the steps and the frame has a guide pin, and the other of the steps and the frame defines a slot in which the guide pin is slideably received. The slot is configured to guide the steps into and between the inoperable position and the operable position as the guide pin slides in the slot.

Abstract: An apparatus is for locking a caster wheel in a steering position about a steering axis. The apparatus comprises a base member; a lever arm; and an engagement member. The lever arm is movable with respect to the base member into and between an engaged position in which the engagement member locks the caster wheel in the steering position and a disengaged position in which the caster is steerable out of the steering position.

Abstract: An automated pallet checker system for checking the structural integrity of a pallet includes a conveyor arrangement mounted on a framework and operable to convey the pallet to be checked through an in-feed station and a lift station connected to the in-feed station. The in-feed station is configured to check the pallet for a presence or absence of pallet bottom cross boards as the pallet is carried on the conveyor arrangement. The lift station is also configured to check for obstructions depending from the pallet bottom cross boards, and missing material in leading and trailing edges of the pallet top cross boards during a lifting movement of the pallet in the lift station. A controller is operatively connected to the conveyor arrangement, the in-feed station and the lift station, and is responsive to signals generated in the in-feed station and the lift station to determine whether the pallet being checked in the in-feed station and the lift station is acceptable or unacceptable.

Abstract: A mounting and latching arrangement is provided for locking and unlocking a cart relative to a support structure. The mounting and latching arrangement includes an elongated mounting channel having opposed ends configured with mounting bracket assemblies adapted to be secured to the support surface, and one of engagement structure and latching structure located between the mounting bracket assemblies and configured for selective engagement and disengagement with the cart for enabling locking and unlocking thereof relative to the elongated mounting channel.

Abstract: A security cart includes a rear wall, a wheeled base frame connected to the rear wall and a base shelf pivotable between a horizontal position and a raised position. A first sidewall and a first door pivotally connected to the first sidewall are movable from locked positions with the base shelf to a folded position forwardly of the rear wall. A second sidewall and a second door pivotally connected to the second sidewall are movable from locked positions to a folded position forwardly of the folded first sidewall and first door. The base shelf is movable from the horizontal position to the raised position, and retained against the folded first sidewall and the first door and the folded second sidewall and second door.

Abstract: A cabinet having a deep shelf with limited access is described and includes at least two opposite sides carrying track means to permit easy adjustment of the shelf between two or more levels by a single person maneuvering only the one accessible end of the shelf. The cabinet can be mounted on wheels to form a cart. One or more such adjustable shelves can be provided. The shelves may be positioned just above the bottom of the cart to provide a maximum depth cart for use, in intermediate positions for use with smaller objects and/or at the very top and/or side of the cart and locked in position to provide a secured interior for the cabinet.
