Abstract: A transport carrier includes a carrier body being able to hold a substrate that is a deposition target, by which the substrate is transported in a deposition apparatus while being held, wherein the carrier body includes magnetic chucking means which magnetically chucks a mask which shields a non-deposition region of the substrate through the substrate and holds the mask in a state in which the mask has come into contact with a film formation surface of the substrate.
Abstract: A film deposition apparatus comprises: a vacuum chamber; a cylindrical target, a circumferential surface of the target being opposite to a substrate, and the target being disposed in the vacuum chamber so as to intersect a conveyance direction of the substrate; a driving unit configured to rotatively drive the target; a magnetic field creator disposed inside the target; a reactive gas flow unit configured to flow a reactive gas, the reactive gas flow unit being disposed in the vicinity of the target; an optical emission monitor configured to monitor an optical emission intensity of plasma at a location between the substrate and the target and in the vicinity of the target; and a controlling unit configured to control a rotation speed of the target driven by the driving unit, such that the optical emission intensity monitored by the optical emission monitor approaches a preset target optical emission intensity.
Abstract: There is provided a method of vacuum evaporation comprising causing evaporated material (5) from vacuum evaporation source (20) furnished with container (1) with its one side open accommodating organic material (2) to form a film on opposed substrate (7), wherein the vacuum evaporation source has heating element (3) not fixed to the container, and being in contact with the surface of organic material held in the container, and wherein the organic material is evaporated by heating of the heating element only, the evaporated material released through at least one hole (6) or at least one slit made in the heating element.
