Abstract: The present invention provides a torque measuring station, comprising a cap-engaging assembly for engaging a cap that has been secured onto a container, a torque measuring assembly for obtaining a measurement indicative of the torque exerted on the cap by the cap engaging assembly and a processing entity in communication with the torque measuring assembly. The processing entity is operative for receiving the measurement indicative of the torque, and for causing the container to be handled, once released from said cap-engaging assembly, on the basis of the measurement indicative of the torque applied to the cap.
Abstract: A crimping apparatus, comprising a revolving turret supporting a plurality of crimping heads, each crimping head operative to engage a closure on a container to create a crimp in the closure. The crimping head includes a cam follower riding on a stationary cam. The movement imparted by the cam profile to the cam follower is communicated to a crimping tool that engages the closure. The cam defines a plurality of cam follower receiving positions, each position establishing a different profile. The cam can be selectively displaced relative to the revolving turret to alter the position at which the cam follower engages the cam and thus the profile followed by the cam follower.
Abstract: Apparatus for sequentially dispensing flowable materials including a positive displacement metering-pump operated by an actuator capable of reciprocating pivotal movement within a range having an angular extent less than 180.degree.. A link member connects the pivotal actuator to the plunger of the positive displacement pump for causing the pump to dispense liquid when the pump actuator is operated. The pump stroke adjuster can selectively vary the distance between the link member and the pivot axis of the pump actuator for, in turn, controlling the stroke of the pump.
