  • Patent number: 8714884
Abstract: A compact apparatus for providing a substantially pressure-tight connection between a source of a plastics component and an opening of an inner channel of a rock bolt. The apparatus includes a central block moveable to be aligned with the rock bolt, a supply pipe slidably arranged in the central block, a first force transmitter, a gripper for attaching the central block to the rock bolt, a gripper drive slidably mounted on the central block and arranged to operate the gripper, and a second force transmitter, such that the first force transmitter is arranged to press the supply pipe onto the opening of the inner channel of the rock bolt. The gripper is mounted on the central block, and the second force transmitter is arranged to operate the gripper drive to force the gripper to clamp the central block onto the rock bolt.

  • Patent number: 8486856
Abstract: Process for producing activated carbon having a high catalytic activity, in which a carbonaceous material is brought into contact with nitrogen compounds, wherein the carbonaceous material is partially gasified with a mixture of steam, nitrogen and CO2 at temperatures above 800° C. in a manner known per se in a multistage fluidized bed and wherein a nitrogen compound is added into the furnace and/or at least one stage of the multistage fluidized bed.

  • Patent number: 8104604
Abstract: A lumber transfer system and a method for individually transferring lumbers from a feeding conveyor to an outfeed conveyor. Detectors are used for monitoring a lumber presence along a corridor on a longitudinal conveying surface. Motorized blocking fingers located about the corridor and transversally spaced along the conveying surface are provided and are configured for moving between blocking and unblocking positions. A controller is also provided, the controller having at least one input for receiving detecting signals from the detectors respectively, the detecting signals of the detectors being respectively associated to the motorized blocking fingers.

  • Patent number: 6244420
Abstract: The present invention relates to lumber positioning or feeding systems to be used in saw mills, planing mills and the like in order to laterally displace lumber as it is being simultaneously advanced in the forward direction. In particular, the present invention is concerned with a lumber positioner apparatus for advancing lumber, which positioner comprises a vertically displaceable angling mechanism which may be selectively activated to cause lumber to be simultaneously displaced in a lateral direction, resulting in a vectorized movement of the lumber in order that the position of the lumber may be quickly and accurately controlled for further processing, such as cutting or trimming.

  • Patent number: 5827354
Abstract: A container for carbon molecular-sieve material which is designed to prevent contamination of carbon materials within the container. The container includes a hollow section with a preferably circular internal cross-section and a rectangular or square external cross-section. Attached to each end of the hollow section are screened structures designed to retain the molecular-sieve material within the hollow section. These screened structures are preferably secured in place by clamping rings. The hollow section can be hermetically sealed for transport and can be sealed by cover plates and bolts.
