  • Patent number: 10869973
Abstract: A device and use thereof for supply of gas to an operational space configured to adjoin a temporarily open inner portion of a mammal during surgical operations. The device includes a supply conduit, connectable to the gas source including an outlet end, and a body having at least partly an annular shape extending along a circumferential path around centre axis enclosing the operational space. The body has an inner side, outer side, an open interior channel, and an opening allowing the gas to enter the body from the supply conduit. The body is manufactured in foam rubber-like material having large number of open cells functioning as supply nozzles permitting the supply of a substantially laminar, continuous gas stream into the operational space enabling the formation of a gas cushion in the operational space.

  • Patent number: 10328194
Abstract: An arrangement and a method for cardiopulmonary bypass is provided. The arrangement includes a reservoir configured to receive blood from the cardiotomy of a patient. An oxygenator receives the blood from the reservoir. An arterial connection is connected to the patient for supplying the blood from the oxygenator. A pump is provided for pumping the blood through the oxygenator to the arterial connection and the patient. The arrangement includes a supply device including a supply conduit attached to the reservoir. The supply device supplies a displacing gas to the reservoir via the supply conduit.

  • Patent number: 6994685
Abstract: The invention refers to a method for creating a protecting atmosphere in a volume, including the steps of: providing a device, which is arranged to permit the supply of a gas and which includes at least a supply conduit including a discharge end and a porous body provided at said discharge end, supplying said gas by means of said device through the porous body in such a way that a controlled flow of said gas is formed and providing said porous body in relation to said volume in such a way that the controlled gas flow forms a gas cushion, which substantially fills said volume, and that said gas cushion is arranged to prevent air from the environment from reaching said volume. The invention also refers to a device for creating a protecting atmosphere in a volume.

  • Patent number: 6494858
Abstract: A method for creating an atmosphere in an area which adjoins an outwardly open, inner portion of a body of a human being or an animal, where the portion is uncovered and has direct contact with a surrounding atmosphere, the method including the steps of supplying a gas to the area, wherein the gas forms a main component in the atmosphere and includes a substantial amount of carbon dioxide. The gas is supplied to the area in a substantially laminar, substantially continuous flow and in such manner that the gas forces air away from the open portion and prevents air from penetrating the area of the open portion. The atmosphere prevents growth of microorganisms including bacteria and viruses in the area.

  • Patent number: 6330480
Abstract: An electrode device intended for medical equipment and arranged to be attached to a tissue of a body part of a patient, the electrode device including a clamping member, wherein the clamping member also includes a relatively thin metal sheet to be brought into an electrical connection with the body part, and is also configured and arranged to connect an electric conductive cable member to the clamping member for establishing an electric connection with the medical equipment, the connection being provided in such a way that the cable member is releasably connected to the clamping member, wherein the metal sheet forms a clip, which is arranged to be clamped to the body part by plastic deformation of the metal sheet without extending through the tissue and in such a way that electric signals are transferable between the medical equipment and the body part.
