Patents Assigned to Carello Lighting Plc
  • Patent number: 5083245
Abstract: A vehicle headlamp assembly for producing a passing beam pattern has a paraboloidal or divergent ellipsoidal reflector with a focus. A bulb filament is disposed completely behind the focus and has no light shield interposed between the filament and the reflector so that a divergent light beam is reflected off the reflector. A lens element has prism portions (A to C) which refract light passing therethrough downwardly to produce the required light beam pattern .

  • Patent number: 5079685
Abstract: A lamp assembly has a lamp reflector body adjustably mounted on a support in the form of a housing through a horizontal screw-threaded rod which engages in an internally screw-threaded element fixed to the housing. A vertical rod is mounted in the housing and terminates in an external end portion which is located so as to be easily turned manually by a spanner, socket or screwdriver. A coil spring serves to transmit drive from the vertical rod to the screw-threaded rod to adjust the reflector body relative to the housing.

  • Patent number: 5065298
Abstract: A lamp assembly has a supporting housing containing a lamp reflector body adjustably mounted therein through a mounting arrangement. The mounting arrangement includes a socket fixed to the body and an adjusting screw rotatably mounted in a sleeve of the housing and having a part-spherical end which is a snap-fit in the socket. To prevent accidental disengagement of the part-spherical end from the socket when the screw had been moved beyond a predetermined position, a member with a frusto-conical recess is slidably mounted on the screw and engages over the socket to prevent it from opening.

  • Patent number: 5060127
Abstract: To facilitate aiming of a motor vehicle headlamp, e.g. as specified in U.S. Lighting Standard SAE J602, a motor vehicle headlamp having a housing with a light-transmitting front cover and a lamp reflector body mounted completely within the housing has an abutment carried by a rod at the top of the headlamp. The rod is slidable in bearings and connected with an adjusting screw for the lamp reflector body so that adjustment of the screw also moves the rod. A conventional mechanical headlamp aimer in mounted on the light-transmitting front cover of the housing in known manner and engages against the abutment.

  • Patent number: 5014166
Abstract: A motor vehicle headlamp comprising a dished body having an ellipsoidal inner reflective surface. A lamp filament is disposed at an inner focal point of the surface. A diverging meniscus lens element having a smooth convex rear surface is disposed between the reflective surface and a front cover. The lens element has a smooth concave outer surface, although the latter may be a concave fresnel lens. The convex rear surface of the lens element reduces the risk of unwanted light scatter compared with the use of a concave rear surface.

  • Patent number: 5003447
Abstract: A lamp reflector comprises a dished body having a front opening and a rear aperture for a bulb having a filament. The dished body has an upper paraboloid reflective surface subtending an angle of about 165.degree. at the optical axis. The body also has a lower paraboloidal reflective surface whose optical axis is coincident with. The filament lies on axis. The filament lies in front of the focus of the upper reflective portion but behind the focus of the lower reflective portion. The reflective portions and define an upwardly inclined step portion and a horizontally disposed step portion.

  • Patent number: 4969072
Abstract: A lamp reflector has a dished body with a lamp-receiving sleeve having an open end. Spring clips hold a lamp so that lugs on a flange of the latter engage against the base of slots in the sleeve. Each clip has a pair of legs which embrace the wall of the sleeve. The inner leg has a hooked end engaging over an internal rib in the sleeve. Each clip also includes an arm having a region which engages against the flange of the lamp to hold the latter in position.
