  • Patent number: 5048626
Abstract: A drive system for an industrial vehicle which consists substantially of an electric motor, a two-step transmission and a drive wheel and can be pivotally mounted for movement about a vertical axis in the undercarriage of the industrial vehicle. An axis of the electric motor is arranged parallel with respect to the drive wheel. The transmission can be a two-step spur gearing or a combined toothed belt and spur gearing. A swivel bearing is arranged above the drive wheel, the external race of which swivel bearing is received in the gear housing and the internal race of which swivel bearing is mounted onto a swivel pin extending downwardly from the undercarriage, the axis of said swivel pin lying at least approximately in the center rotational plane of the drive wheel, with the electric motor projecting above the area of the undercarriage having the swivel pin.

  • Patent number: 5044905
Abstract: A gear pump which includes a housing having an internally toothed gear and a pinion meshing with the internally toothed gear disposed therein. The housing has a sickle-shaped space between the two gears and has therein a filler piece. In order to avoid a fluttering of the filler piece and the noises connected therewith, structure is provided for urging the filler piece, due to pressurized oil being guided from the pressure chamber and one side of the filler piece into a bore extending through the filler piece to the opposite side of the filler piece, against the pump housing. The filler piece can also be locked in the direction of rotation by a pressure piece also loaded by the pressurized oil.

  • Patent number: 5024122
Abstract: A shaft support structure for a rotatable shaft having at least one gear thereon, the shaft and gear being oriented in a transmission housing. The shaft is twice supported: once directly on the transmission housing in one opening, and once in a bearing bracket which is provided in a second opening in the transmission housing. The axially spaced openings for the shaft in the transmission housing are out of alignment. However, the support structure in the transmission housing for the shaft provides an axially aligned support for the shaft. The bearing bracket effects a centering of the shaft support in the transmission housing.

  • Patent number: 5014467
Abstract: A method and a machine for the discontinuous generating grinding with indexing of the tooth flanks (14) of gears. The rotating grinding wheel (T) carries out several back and forth feed movements (X) from one axial side face of a tooth to the other. The gear (W) is rotated a small amount (rolling step s) at each change of direction point and the grinding wheel (T) is adjusted in the axial direction (rolling stroke .DELTA.Z). To produce corrections on the tooth flank (14), the grinding wheel can, during the feed movements (X), carry out additional lifting movements (.DELTA.K) in direction of the rolling stroke (.DELTA.Z).

  • Patent number: 5012906
Abstract: A friction clutch for use in a gear changing transmission for facilitating a power transmission from a rotating shaft of a working exhaust-gas turbine onto a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine, which friction clutch, depending on the engine and/or turbine speed, automatically closes in the direction of engagement and opens in the direction of disengagement, with the friction members of the clutch being able to be compressed in the direction of engagement against a spring force (cup springs) by a piston of a rotating cylinder-piston-unit provided on the drive side of the clutch, such that a fluid conveyed from an external pump into the cylinder applies a fluid pressure onto the piston in response to rotation (centrifugal force). The engine lubricant is preferably used as the fluid.

  • Patent number: 5003817
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for the testing of synchronizing devices. In contrast to a conventional apparatus, in which only one rotating transmission gear or rather its synchronizing cone cooperates with a nonrotating synchronizing ring, it is now possible to test a complete synchronizing device consisting of two transmission gears, two synchronizing rings and one gear-shift sleeve with a hub. A transmission gear is fixedly connected to a rigid frame, the other transmission gear is connected to the drive through a drive shaft. The hub with the gear-shift sleeve is coupled with a flywheel mass on the driven side. The flywheel mass on the driven side is during a first shifting operation connected to the drive and is accelerated to the driving speed for testing. The flywheel mass now rotating at the driving speed is then again delayed until standstill through the synchronizing device during a second shifting operation.

  • Patent number: 4914968
Abstract: A pump 11 is provided in a gear-shift mechanism, in particular a boat reversing gear transmission, in order to supply the hydraulically operated friction clutches with pressurized oil. The pump 11 sucks oil through a fine-mesh filter 19 out of the sump 21. The fine-mesh filter 19 is arranged in a separate filter chamber 12 which is connected through a suction pipe 13, 15 to the sump 21 and to the suction side of the pump 11. The two suction pipes are arranged in such a manner with respect to one another that the filter chamber 12 is always filled with oil. A dry running of the pump 11 during starting is avoided in this manner. The fine-mesh filter 19, in the form of a removable filter cartridge 20, allows the flow of oil from the inside thereof to the outside and is arranged for easy access from above.

  • Patent number: 4878571
Abstract: A friction clutch for gear drives, which friction clutch is constructed as a spring-loaded safety clutch. The gearshift sleeve, which in the sense of the engagement and disengagement, is mounted axially movably and to a limited extent rotatably on the shaft to be engaged. The gearshift sleeve is connected with the shaft through at least one eccentric device rotatable substantially perpendicularly with respect to the axis of the shaft, such that the axial movement of the gearshift sleeve effects in the sense of the engagement both a rotation of the gearshift sleeve relative to the shaft and also the axial additional movement needed to reinforce the contact pressure, whereby the axial additional movement decreases with an increasing relative rotation, and the axial movement of the gearshift sleeve effects in the sense of the disengagement an oppositely directed rotary and axial additional movement, whereby the axial additional movement increases with a decreasing relative rotation.

  • Patent number: 4831788
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the rolling drive of a gear grinding machine. The rotation portion of the rolling movement of the workpiece is effected by roll bands, which at one end are secured to a roll-band carriage movable back and forth with respect to the workpiece axis and at the other end are secured to a roll cam and roll onto and off therefrom. The roll cam and the workpiece are supported on a roll-cam carriage movable back and forth parallel to the roll-band carriage. The roll-band carriage and the roll-cam carriage can be driven at a substantially phase-equal movement. The relationship between the stroke of the roll-band carriage and the roll-cam carriage can be adjusted corresponding with the difference between the diameter of the roll cam and of the workpiece.
