  • Patent number: 7959191
Abstract: An extension pole including an outer tube connected to a water source and an inner tube positioned in a telescoping relationship to the outer tube. The inner tube includes a series of spaced apart openings that are engaged by a biased locking member positioned on the end of the outer tube. The locking member may be manually released by activation of a release button connected to locking member, thereby allowing inner and outer tubes to be moved with respect to each other. The extension pole also includes a locking nut assembly positioned on the free end of the inner tube for attaching the tube to cleaning tool and preventing rotation of the cleaning tool during use.

Abstract: One aspect of the present invention is a jumper cable clamp that is biased to a position with its jaws open. Another aspect of the present invention is a jumper cable clamp that uses biases open its jaws using torsional tension in a helical spring. Another aspect of the present invention is a jumper cable clamp that includes a set of jaws, a jaw-biasing hardware set and a ratchet hardware set where: (i) the jaw-biasing hardware set biases the jaws towards an open position; and (ii) the ratchet hardware set holds the position of the jaws at regular positional increments as the jaws are moved, against the bias provided by the jaw-biasing hardware set, towards a closed position. Preferably, the ratchet hardware set further includes a quick release mechanism structured, located, sized, shaped and/or mechanically connected to release a ratcheted engagement of the ratchet hardware set upon activation of the quick release mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7510128
Abstract: The present invention provides a detachable nozzle used for interconnecting a hose to a cleaning implement or for use as spray nozzle for a hose. The detachable nozzle extends along a longitudinal axis and includes a downstream end with an internally threaded neck adapted for connection to a hose and an upstream end with an externally threaded neck that is adapted for connection to a cleaning implement or from which water may be discharged. A spring biased actuating trigger engages a lever tied to a spring biased valve and is pivotally movable between its neutral position that places the valve in its closed position, to a fully closed position that places the valve in its fully open position.

  • Patent number: 7216414
Abstract: A method of connecting a hollow handle having deformable sections to a tool supporting end piece having one ore more indentations. The deformable sections of the handle are deformed into the indentations of the tool supporting end piece. The handle and the end piece include visual indicia that allow for the deformable portion of the handle and the indentation of the tool supporting end piece to be aligned. The end piece includes a shoulder at the juncture of the first section with a second section limiting the extent of insertion of the end piece into the handle and the indentations are formed, preferably on diametrically opposite sides of the first section, at a known axial distance from the shoulder. Visible indicia are placed on the outer surface of the second section in axial alignment with the indentations.

  • Publication number: 20060130280
Abstract: A hollow, cylindrical, handle is substantially permanently connected to a end piece by insertion into the distal end of the handle of a first axial section of the end piece and inwardly deforming portions of the handle wall inwardly into indentations formed in the outer surface of the end piece. The positions at which the handle wall is inwardly deformed is determined by the known distance from the shoulder (distal end of the handle) and in axial alignment with the indicia on the second section.

  • Patent number: 6990705
Abstract: A multifunctional cleaning implement having a collapsible, telescoping handle interconnected to a head assembly. The head assembly includes front and back panels which interlock with or are integrally formed with cleaning implements, such as a squeegee, a brush, a sponge, and/or an ice scraper. The handle is pivotally interconnected by a sliding ball and socket joint to a channel in the head assembly so that it may be collapsed into a stored position within a cavity in the head assembly, or extended from the head assembly and pivoted into an open position perpendicular to the head assembly. A resilient member formed in the channel biases the ball joint to selectively maintain the handle in the open position.

  • Patent number: 6536971
Abstract: A wash mit assembly comprising a rigid or semi-rigid body, a hose coupling interconnected to the body, and a cloth removably connected to the body. The body includes an exterior surface that is generally concave in shape, a hose receiving recess formed in the exterior surface along its longitudinal axis, a strap extending transversely across the recess, and openings formed through opposing sides of the recess for receiving nozzles of the hose coupling therein. The cloth includes a drawstring stitched about its periphery and is removably connected to the body in complete covering relation to the body's inwardly facing surface. To connect the cloth to the body, the body is positioned on the cloth, and the drawstring of the cloth is pulled taut so that the edge of the body is encompassed within the edge of the cloth.

  • Patent number: 6517119
Abstract: A retainer ring connector comprised of a ring situated between matching spokes on both the male and female members of a hose coupling. The ring is contained behind the outwardly extending spokes on the male member. When the male member is inserted into the female member, spokes on the inside of the female member pass between the spokes of the male member and are forced over the ring element which compresses sufficiently to allow the spokes to pass. After the spokes of the female member pass over the compressed ring member, the ring member expands and prevents the male and female members from disengaging and backing away from each other. The spoked retainer ring connector allows for complete rotational movement with preventing the male and female members from separating.

  • Patent number: 6438797
Abstract: A handle for a mop or other such cleaning instrument is hollow for flow of water from a hose attached to one end of the handle to the work-engaging portion at the other end. A manually operable control moves a stopper between three positions wherein flow through an opening in an internal partition in the handle is fully blocked, partially blocked or fully unblocked. The stopper has a total of three detent members in the form of rounded protrusions and a total of three recess for receiving the detents are formed in the partition. As the operating member is manipulated to move the stopper between its three positions, one detent engages a recess in the fully blocked position, two detents engage respective recesses in the partially blocked position and all three detents engage the three recesses in the fully unblocking position. The provision of three detents and three recesses adds to the stability and reliability of operation of the implement.
