    Abstract: A separator disc for use in a disc separator for separating a mixture of grain and/or grain-like particles according to particle length. The disc separator, of conventional construction, is characterized by a series of spaced parallel discs, mounted for rotation on a common shaft. The discs are partially submerged in the mixture. Pockets in the exposed plane surfaces of the discs lift shorter grains from the mixture and dump them as the discs rotate, to thereby separate the particles. The separator disc is formed of a castable polyurethane material and is radially split to provide for removal from the shaft and replacement of individual discs in a direction transverse to the axis of the shaft.

    Abstract: An aspirator and method for separating fines and foreign matter from dry, free-flowing granular material, characterized by a vertical drop of the unclean granular material in a separation plenum into an opposing upward air stream and a plurality of vertically-spaced, horizontally-extending transverse air streams. Suspended fines and foreign matter are conducted from the granular material in the separation plenum through a plurality of vertically-spaced outlets into a manifold for discharge from the aspirator. The apparatus and method avoid bunching, recompaction and congregating of the granular material during the separation process, to thereby increase throughput and optimize separation efficiency.

    Abstract: A multiple deck screening machine wherein the feed material is divided into separate equal fractions on a rubble screen deck and scalp screen decks. Each deck includes downwardly slanting distribution panels having serrated lower edges. Particulate flow over the serrated edges is divided into separate fractions. Each adjacent fraction passes into a different parallel vertical channel which serves a particular screen deck via a chute. The chutes and channels extend the full width of the screens. Flow across the serrated edges is separated due to the notches and tongues and upstanding dividers along the common edge to each notch and tongues. Each notch and tooth of the rubble screen deck is disposed in juxtaposition to an opposed tongues and notch respectively so that excess flow over a tongues may pass over its channel into the channel of the opposed notch. The rubble screen deck including a pair of downwardly and inwardly inclined distribution panels which oppose each other and define a flow gap therebetween.

    Abstract: A cleaning system for sleeve-type air filters featuring top removal of sleeves of the filtering media and increased filtering capacity, using sharply pulsed backflushing air of short duration from a single source for cleaning the sleeves which requires substantially less power and simpler mechanical structure than conventional filters of similar capacity. Filter sleeves depend from clean air outlet ports which are arrayed in concentric rings in a porting plate in closely-spaced relation one from the next at uniform circular and radial pitches allowing more sleeves to be packed in the porting plate which separates the clean air section from the dusty air section of said filter and more capacity from the same size filter than was heretofore possible. A tank is repetitively charged with air to a set pressure by a pump and the pressurized air is released by a pulse generating valve for distribution of the air to said sleeves for backflushing at essentially random frequency.
