Abstract: Systems and techniques for acoustic-based linguistically-driven automated text formatting of acoustic input are described herein. An audio sample may be obtained that includes multiple words from human speech. The audio sample may be processed to determine a linguistic relationship of the words from the acoustic properties of the words. Based on the determined linguistic relationships, data such as an acoustical language model is generated to enable an arrangement of the words into a cascade format (e.g., a cascade format that establishes horizontal displacement and vertical displacement among the multiple words). A cascaded text output may be provided from the acoustical language model or other types of related data.

Abstract: A hydraulic control circuit operable to selectively hydraulically link first and second hydraulic actuators and to bypass that hydraulic link.
Abstract: Aspects herein relate to protective headgear for sports and to methods of using such headgear. In one aspect, the headgear has an external head-protecting shell that is soft to reduce the risk of injuring other players. In another aspect, the headgear has a rear closure arrangement that includes a bridge component for ease of putting on the headgear and for added protection at the closure area of the rear closure arrangement. In another aspect, fit pads of different sizes are removeably attachable to a cheekbone extension member of the headgear to provide a proper fit to the wearer's cheekbone. A face mask is integrated with the headgear in some embodiments.

Abstract: A method and system for production of layered wood products employs local and independently operating robotic panel assembly cells including one or more veneer handling robots, one or more core handling robots, and one or more glue application robots to produce stacks of layered wood product panels locally near the pressing stations. Consequently, the stacks of layered wood product panels are independently built at, or near, the location of the pressing stations. This eliminates the need for traditional panel conveyors, traditional layered wood product panel assembly layup lines, and stack press delivery lines. This, in turn, eliminates thousands of moving parts and dozens of people from the layered wood product production process.
Abstract: A telescoping weigh fork unit where a base fork has an integrated hydraulic cylinder and a slideable outer shoe on which are supported at least two load cells. Optionally the unit may include an outside telescopic fork shoe to which the load cells are mounted and which supports the outer shoe. Unit may further include a system to alert if distance or weight thresholds are exceeded or if a load cell is inoperable.

Abstract: A method and system for generating a set of framing plan solutions for a building construction project uses a combination of code-based, physical, and performance attribute constraints, parameters, and variables and a ranking system that together provide framing plan alternatives selected from a calculated set of all possible framing plans. The framing plan alternatives are selected in a logical manner that considers constraints that are required as well as user selected and weighted constraints. The set of framing plan alternatives are then ranked according to input from the designer and/or customer regarding the relative importance of each of the constraints, parameters, and variables of the building construction project.
Abstract: Various examples of approaches for using and implementing cascaded text formatting within electronic publishing and display mediums are described herein. In an example, a method for analyzing and re-formatting a stream of text, includes: obtaining a stream of human-readable text in a natural language processing (NLP) parser to identify parts-of-speech and key phrases in a proper sentence; tagging the identified parts-of-speech according to the respective parts and key phrases; generating a text cascade arrangement for a display of the proper sentence by applying predefined rules to the part-of-speech and key phrases, where such a display of the proper sentence provides breaks and cascading, including indentations, according to the pre-defined rules; and outputting an electronic display of the proper sentence which includes the text cascade arrangement.

Abstract: The improved hydraulic system utilizes a secondary hydraulic force control circuit that changes the gripping force on the load independently of movement of the clamp arms.
Abstract: An article of manufacture includes a first discrete inflatable body having a first core member cut from a single slab of core material and a first root portion, and further includes a second discrete inflatable body comprising a second core member cut from the single slab of core material and a second root portion. Each of the first and second core members includes a plurality of ribs, and the ribs extend laterally from the first and second root portions.
Abstract: A load-bearing assembly including a clamping-force sensor in a pivoting support assembly that is adjustable to vary a radial spacing between a pivot pin and a clamp pad mounted on the support assembly. A plurality of clamping-force sensors may be included in a plurality of pivoting clamp pad support assemblies to support a clamp pad and may be arranged to sense the magnitude of a clamping force exerted by a particular adjustable pivoting clamp pad support assembly and send signals indicative of the magnitude of the force to a controller. A load sensor may be located between a pivot pin and a bearing block, or strain gauges may be mounted in the pivoting bearing block so as to measure forces carried through the bearing block. Force values sensed and transmitted to the controller may be used to evaluate and adjust the clamp arm assembly to grasp a load with a desired clamping force or distribution of clamping forces.

Abstract: Various techniques are described for enhanced combustion of hot water extraction (HWE) derived liquor. For example, the HWE derived liquor can be pre-treated prior to introduction into a combustion chamber. The pre-treatment can include subjecting HWE derived liquor to filtration to remove suspended solids, evaporation to produce a first stage concentrated HWE liquor; additional concentration to produce a second stage concentrated HWE liquor; additional filtration to remove additional suspended solids; and pre-heating to produce a preheated HWE liquor. The preheated HWE liquor can be atomized and combined with pre-heated combustion air supplied into a combustion chamber to effect combustion of the HWE derived liquor.
